Pacheco's market value according to RAWK - £45m
Pacheco's market value to people whose opinions are worth more than the steam off my piss = £12.50.

No I don't. Because apart from some games where he was excellent, overall he was average to poor.

If he plays out of his skin and is excellent then I always admit it.

His attitude that season stank and that went on to apparantly get shot of his manager and the recommendation of his new manager (That made a pigs ear of thinks, as, I'm sure you're aware.)

As for the last part - it was all over the media that Gerrard was delighted at the appointment of Hodgson.
I love how people use this to beat Gerrard over the head with. He's the club captain, no shit he's going to praise the new manager that's brought it. It's his job to talk up a new manager and new players. What the hell did you think he was going to do? Start slagging Hodgson off and cry about Rafa being sacked? Torres came off as delighted with Hodgson too.

Lucas 15-20mill you must be having a laugh. Downing is not worth 15mill either- 10mill at the most. Suarez is the player for me- if Aguero, Tevez, Pastore, Sanchiz etc are supposedly worth 40mill plus- Suarez is in the same bracket. The other players with good value are Gerrard and Reina.

Still if we put Gerrard up for sale , we would easily get a lot more than £5-7m

Sure clubs like Madrid would see shirts sales pulling in £10-20m imo.

I could see a club like Madrid offer silly money or Chelsea or even Manchester City - for shirt sales - but that's not what I'd consider market value to be fair. Market value (The way I've taken it) is a market price which clubs would pay should a player be put up for sale.

I'd say Gerrard's market value right now in terms of what he's likely to offer a team on the pitch in the years ahead, is around the 15m mark. Probably 3 good seasons left in him, with some of each season lost to injury.

Gotta use "form is temporary, class is permanent".

He is class. I'll admit that. But if that class is hampered by temperament and injury then it can't shine.

IF he can sort his head out AND can sort his injuries out AND put a solid season in for us to the peak of his ability then it would be like us going out and buying a £40M world class player.

But I doubt he can do it personally. I hope I am wrong. Because if I'm wrong he'll play 38 games and we'll win the league and he'll be fantastic.

What do you think they are?

Reina 25-30m
Johnson 15-17m
Carra 5m
Agger 10m (Injury record)
Skrtel 13m
Lucas 17-20m
Gerrard 12-15m
Henderson 9m
Downing 15m
Carroll 15-20m
Aquilani 15m
Meireles 13m
Kuyt 10m
Suarez 30m
Adam 8m
Maxi 5m
Did our best players and new acquisitions.

Opinions?

Think that fee for Reina is way to low.
It seems spot-on, but think about this- if Liverpool announce Reina's up for grabs, clubs would fall over their feet to get him in. A bidding war would ensue and I think we'd end up selling Reina for about 40mil, tops.

Slapping a price on him, serve only to open the bids. Think about Reina- Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Spurs(they'll just throw themselves in the hat though), Roma, AC, Inter, Barcelona etc...
That said- I would never sell him for money's sake alone.

Gerrards gonna rip the Prem apart this year, hes gonna have a personal best career year passing scoring and taking over games whenever required. 125 million.

or

Hes busted he'll never be the same again. 5 mill.

I vote #1. Good Long break, better supporting cast, very few mid-week games, Kenny in charge. He's never had this luxury before. IF the groin hasnt done him, he'll rock the house imo. Couple more real good years in him.

i keep seeing phrases like 'extensive injury history' and 'permanently injured' referring to gerrard....now this is a man who has played 556 career games for us over 13 seasons, averaging over 40 per season.......he has had a groin problem that has restricted him over the past season (maybe 2), but that is not unusual in modern sport, many professionals are impaired by on-going injuries, particularly injuries that can be played through.....now gerrard has had surgery in an attempt to resolve the injury as it had reached critical point through which he could not play.....there is no reason to believe that the injury will be significantly improved by the surgery and will impact him only marginally going forward.....gerrard's physical abilities/attributes will diminish over the next few seasons, and parts of his game that used to be outstanding (barn-storming runs, crunching tackles) will not be the stand out part of his game.....however, these attributes tended to overshadow his all-round game which has always been excellent....gerrard's touch, passing, striking and tackling are all attributes that set him apart from many players in the game today and continue to do......his value remains high, but not of the heights of 30million like they were.....however, i would suggest he is more valuable to liverpool than another club and consequently his market value will never be accurately estimated or actually realised

This website keeps quite a clear value of players at clubs....

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/premier-league/startseite/wettbewerb_GB1.html

I dont think they value accurately I just say they value.

I think that Chelsea is grossly overvalued for instance.

It is interesting to note though the huge difference between the top 6 and the rest.

I think my favourite has to be Joe Cole at 11.5m vs. Lucas at 7.5m.

Guess they evaluated Joe when he was a rentboy and forgot to update.

Also, Flanagan at 225k when he's an 18-year-old who gained nationwide praise last season is ridiculous. And apparently Luis Suarez has lost value since we bought him.... riiiiight.

I can't be arsed evaluating the whole team because no one pays attention to each other's lists anyway, but I think the most interesting cases are those where LFC's evaluation would differ markedly from what other clubs are likely to offer.

For example, if other clubs were bidding for Lucas I can honestly see them opening the bidding at 5-7m because I think he flies under the radar somewhat and bidders may hope they can cash in on the lack of hype. However, if we were to ask at what price LFC might bite, I think you'd be looking at a minimum 15m, probably closer to 20m. Hence he's almost a non-sellable asset because the two parties almost certainly would not agree on a transfer fee.

On the flipside, other clubs might bid 5m for Joe Cole and we'd just say "don't worry about it mate, this one's on me". Least that's what I'd do...

most of you don't know what market value is.

its what someone is willing to pay for a certain object.

so for those saying henderson is worth 4m (FFS) we wouldnt have paid 16m if that was the case. same goes for carroll and 35m. we paid it so therefore his market value is 35m (albiet 6 months ago but not a lot has changed since then)

Of the ones you've listed

Reina £15M-£20M
Johnson £7M-£12M
Carra £2M-£3M
Agger £5M-£10M
Skrtel £10M-£15M
Lucas £15M-£20M
Gerrard £5M-£7M
Henderson £10M-£15M
Downing £10M-£12M
Carroll £15M-£25M
Aquilani £7M-£15M
Meireles £7M-£15M
Kuyt £5M-£13M
Suarez £15M-£25M
Adam £7M-£12M
Maxi £7M-£12M

That's a pretty good estimate although I think you over-value Skrtel by a lot.   Maxi should also probably be something like 5-8 million.  Suarez, maybe, should be higher than what you have him at.  I definitely don't think his value has dropped and that starts him at 22 million.  So, I'd have Suarez at 22-35 million.  The rest I'm in agreement with

Well whatever the valuation Luis Suarez surely just added another couple of million to his valuation after his two goals tonight.

If we sold him right now I would honestly expect a fee nearing the 35-40 million mark.

Leaving City, Chelsea, Inter, AC Milan and Barcelona no other team in that list would be willing to pay that much money for a goalkeeper.

Chelsea have Cech. Barca have Valdes. Inter have Cesar. So, The only ones left in that list are AC Milan and City. While, They may not have a keeper of Pepe's caliber, they do have good keepers in Abiatti and Hart.

Well whatever the valuation Luis Suarez surely just added another couple of million to his valuation after his two goals tonight.

If we sold him right now I would honestly expect a fee nearing the 35-40 million mark.

35... Carroll is worth 35 for us.. Suarez is double this price.
