i keep seeing phrases like 'extensive injury history' and 'permanently injured' referring to gerrard....now this is a man who has played 556 career games for us over 13 seasons, averaging over 40 per season.......he has had a groin problem that has restricted him over the past season (maybe 2), but that is not unusual in modern sport, many professionals are impaired by on-going injuries, particularly injuries that can be played through.....now gerrard has had surgery in an attempt to resolve the injury as it had reached critical point through which he could not play.....there is no reason to believe that the injury will be significantly improved by the surgery and will impact him only marginally going forward.....gerrard's physical abilities/attributes will diminish over the next few seasons, and parts of his game that used to be outstanding (barn-storming runs, crunching tackles) will not be the stand out part of his game.....however, these attributes tended to overshadow his all-round game which has always been excellent....gerrard's touch, passing, striking and tackling are all attributes that set him apart from many players in the game today and continue to do......his value remains high, but not of the heights of 30million like they were.....however, i would suggest he is more valuable to liverpool than another club and consequently his market value will never be accurately estimated or actually realised
