its tape or similar, you use it to hold your shinpads up

Gerrard and Adam both just have ankle tape on. Most likely just to hold up their shin guards. I see what you mean about Maxi though, never noticed that before. Anyway, you seem to have a bit of a sock fetish mate.

i don't see why he wouldnt be, players on a 3 match suspension are allowed to train with the team so i  assume he's allowed too.
