Just found this pic, intrigued to know how that happens to her hands ;)

Nice nod to the Alien aswell, with the pose being the exact one that the Xeno made in the airducts.

Good spot on the Alien air duct scene (just before Dallas is taken?). Her face is taken from the teaser, when she is in an escape pod.

Or

Seriously, stop reading or watching anything to do with this movie, because as it stands now, this movie may never be good enough for you.
That won't be my fault. All I ever ask for is artistic integrity. If you're gonna sell a movie this hard then it better be as good as you're making out or you're getting it both barrels. Is that unfair?

Great viral video that one. It's like the boy robot David, from AI, grew up and somehow switched off that darn emotive switch.
i cant believe they named it "viral video" in the link!

Artistic integrity? What does that even mean? No, I'm serious. What boxes must it check off to meet your criteria for "artistic integrity"?

And yeah, if it's crap, it deserves to be called out for being so. Give it both barrels if you must. But here's the kicker: how about waiting until you've actually seen the thing. I may stand corrected, but every single one of your posts in this thread has been whiney cakes. Is there a chance the lead up will be better than the pay off? Of course there is. We could all probably make a list of 100 movies where the full article wasn't half as good as the trailers. So what? Are you going to spend the next month and a half bitching about how MORE cynical you're becoming because the promos are so good? Would it be better if the trailers looked like shit? "The artistic integrity of this film is going to be through the roof... because the trailer looked like absolute garbage, because they haven't piqued my interest at all, because they haven't bothered promoting it."

Yep, I could be setting myself up for disappointment. But in the mean time, I'm going to enjoy the fuck out of the anticipation.

Well for a start, not compromising the cut of the film to get the certification required simply to make more money.
But here's the kicker: how about waiting until you've actually seen the thing.
That's a bit rich when it's quite clear from some of the erections in this thread that I'm one of the few people who will be objective about the film. Most of you, like Empire magazine no doubt, have got your 5 star reviews written already.  Mind you I shouldn't be surprised, just poke your nose into any of The Dark Shite threads on here.

It's a film based in the Alien universe, directed by Ridley Scott, it'll atleast do the original Alien justice by tying up some loose ends but it won't be to everyones taste.

Now put the hand bags back on the BHS shelves and fuck off down to the knicker aisle to perv on the MILFs you gang of argumentative fuckers.

The thing about what Ridley said about certificate was two things actually I think:
  • The MPAA are hugely inconsistent and political (there is a film about it) so you get some really tough PG-13 films these days, particularly in terms of violence.
  • He is now a businessman and producer as well as director and he was saying that if a big film fails at the box office (like, ooooooh I dunno, one set on MARS) it is bad for everyone in the industry.
I don't think he will take much shit, and will mostly make the film he wants to make; it just might not have people's anuses being ripped out in slow-motion though!

due to the bonkers attitudes of the MPAA thats more likely to be in a PG-13 than a woman having an orgasm

BFI Imax tickets went on sale today.

Managed to grab a couple of seats, 10 rows back, front and centre. Trying to stay impartial but - frankly - this movie looks great :thumbup

Which day/time did you buy tickets for?

I want to go to this:

Prometheus IMAX 3D
Liverpool ONE
01/06/2012
00:01
Screen 12

Musn't be a Thursday release for it like most films these days.
Without the sunglasses, Weekend at Bernie's would have been a very dark, strange tale.

Riding through dust clouds and barren wastes
Galloping hard on the plains
Chasing the redskins back to their holes
Fighting them at their own game

Yer you can't see it in IMAX 2D. I'm not a fan of 3D, but this is meant to look stunning, with the 3D adding depth rather than things flying at you.

Has anyone on here been to see anything in 3D at the IMAX in Liverpool One? The nearest Odeon to me on the Wirral is a 15 minute walk for me, that is also doing a midnight screening of it in 3D. Problem is, I really wanted to see this in IMAX, so is it worth the extra money on travel and effort for it?

Bigger screen, better quality picture.

Although the IMAX screen in Liverpool One is supposedly nowhere near the size of normal IMAX screens, it is smaller due to space restrictions.

I'm going Sunday 3rd June, 1.20pm showing.

The blurb on BFI's website makes no reference to Aliens. Is this film linked to the series? The Mrs hasn't seen any of the Alien(s) films.

I have to say, despite all of my cynicism thus far...If this film gets a 12A and doesn't smash Avatar off the top then something has gone wrong somewhere. Hell, even if it's a 15. Has the cinema going audience ever been so pumped for a film?

Wow, that was great but I really wish I hadn't watched it, pretty sure I broadly know the entire plot now.

No need to worry about the rating either, the producer has said this week they won't cut a second of whatever Scott delivers to make a lower rating. Apparently the recent screenings have been a definite R/15 rating.
