Apparently ESPN sent a representative to personally apologise to Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas for suggestion Drogba gave the half time team talk.  Doesn't really matter either way to us though.

Just heard a rumor that apparently Abramovich has contacted Bielsa, who is the coach of Athletic Bilbao, another possibility might be Valencias Unai Emery...

Dont think there is much in it to be honest and probably bs.

Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas is certainly not as bad as he is made BUT I think that Chelsea and the surroundings are wrong for him...

He would have been definately more succesful at Arsenal, Liverpool and such, because these clubs havent got impatient and interfrring owners

Emery's a great underrated coach. He'd be stupid to go that club at this stage, as they are in need of massive rebuilding. That said, he manages to keep Valencia in CL contention every season despite Valencia having to sell their star player at the end of each campaign.

interesting to hear craig burley at the weekend, first person ive heard ( on tv) say torres is finished, and then spoke about the drogba half time tunnel team talk and Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas going nuts when someone mentioned it and saying lampard looked like he was ignoring him when he came on. big problems at the "happy place" chelsea, great isnt it nando?

Really professional dressing room is Chelsea's.

The only person he needs to get rid of is Lampard, Terry has been solid for them this season.

No he hasn't, he has been exposed a number of times this season for his poor positional play and lack of pace.

Don't agree at all, he has been good, David Luiz has been the weak link in their defence, replace him and Cole and they're back to being solid at the back.

Lampard who is their joint top scorer with 9 goals and 4 assists? That's from 18 starts. He's hardly been a liability has he?

Wouldn't be surprising. There's a £50m underperforming investment that Rafa had working for us. And above all Roman covets the CL more than anything else.

Why only give a manager one season? What is that going to achieve? It's not Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas's squad its still pretty much Mourinhos squad, fact is no managers been brave enough to change it because they always have a good start to the season.

Abrom' would never give him the money or the time, nor would he let Rafa sell Lampard,Terry, Cole,Drogba. Abrom' wants to deny it but he needs to build an entirely new team.
Goodbye & thank you Rafa. You've given us more than we ever had a right to expect from you and you stayed loyal and fought for us even when some of our own turned on you. I truly hope that you find somewhere with the support that you deserve & win everything in sight.

Is it really like that though? There were rumors that Chelsea wanted a overhaul last summer but Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas wanted time to assess the team. And when the contract talk with Drogba was going on, Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas came out and said Drogba deserves a longer contract even though Chelsea was adamant he would not have a more than 1 year contract. Maybe Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas just doesnt have the strong character to make these decisions.

The rumour in the Telegraph or Guardian this morning (can't remember which) was that thoughts were turning to Rafa until the end of the season as he had previously approached them about the job. A Hiddink stop-gap. Hope he isn't tempted, because it would be the job audition from hell.

Well for one thing, no one can have any sympathy for Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas.

From 2th position last season to losing Champs League spot, he has only got himself to blame. Imagine, if Rafa had been there, it would have been only Rafa fault's not the surroundings, players.....

Agreed with No666.

Rafa needs to be careful choosing his jobs. Inter was a horrible experience for him and its very very similar condition at Chelsea. Too may egoistic players who are past their best and lack the motivation to win. If I were Rafa, I would rather wait for a job at somewhere like Lyon or some other club where he won't be under the spotlight that much.

Now demanding that Abramovic backs his long-term plans  :o

Clearly he knows he's gone. Not a matter of if but when. Probably this week. Mourinho got sacked after a CL group draw with FCK, so not much hope for the ginger Portuguese with Napoli.

And so the revolving door keeps on spinning...

I don't think there's a chance in hell Rafa would take the job, even on an interim basis. He's got his eyes on his destiny job back home, replacing Mourinho once again.

Would Mourinho really leave in the summer if they win the league? And one could argue the RM job isn't really that much better than Chelsea.
