One of the greatest footballers in an era Neymar didn't watch football and therefore is irrelevant to Neymar.

He would only know about footballers playing in this millenium. Up until a couple of years ago, Brazilians only watched European matches where it involved Brazilian players. Werder Bremen and german football was massive here. The EPL is still catching up.

I would bet Neymar has zero knowledge of who Dalglish is, what he did and his importance to this club. I also reckon he would have zero interest in learning.

Well hopefully he finds a right club and changes his mindset for his own good. Too much talent to be wasted.

Lucas does look like a real talent.. but guys - he has a long way to go. He's doesn't have a particularly impressive goal scoring / result based record and that is from a whole different league. Ask Lucas Leiva.
Paying more than 12m£ would be a huge, huge gamble.

I'm guessing the OTT reactions are down to FM?

You might aswell ignore the release clause. The only thing it means is that the club decides the price.

Definitely not, minimum he will cost will probably be about £15 mill, thats also surmising others teams like City, Madrid, Utd etc.. don't get involved too, if we get him for £7 million I'll probably collapse with happiness.

Collapse with hapiness?? It's likely that I would loose bodily control and proper shit myself overjoyed in ecstasy if this one happens. Holy moly if we are in for Mata and this guy and a few others to boot we really going all out for it next year and hence Stevie on Sky earlier giving it large on our expectations for next year.

The worm is turning I just hope we can buy early and big and push on for the next 5 years or so

Shit Im so happy already

you can admit to him that we let xabi go. then proceed to explain to him that only one of us (between liverpool and shitchester) has had the opportunity to let any world class midfielders go over the last 5 years.
Liverpool is different than any team from any American sport. You're not just a fan who's rooting for your team to prevail and win the big trophy. It's absolutely in your blood, effecting you nonstop, you want nothing but the best for your Liverpool family. You want to share in the struggles and the triumph just as a family would.

I honestly think he would use "Lucas Paulista" or maybe even Lucaszinho. I don't think it would be "Lucas Moura" as that would be seen as an insult to his fathers name (da Silva).

According to Wagner Ribeiro, Lucas already has proposals for major clubs in Europe

"I was in London and I was approached by a director of Liverpool to open negotiations with Sao Paulo. Leco tried the (vice president of football) and passed the information to him," said the businessman, who highlighted the negative response of the director are Pauline-player deal.

The penalty for dismissal of Luke is 80 million euros, more than any other revelation of Brazilian football as Santos Neymar and Goose.

Juninho was very quick back in the day so I'm not sure there, but definitely quicker than Kinkladze. Though not as cool. Never as cool. Despite not being a Liverpool player Kinkladze is just about my all time cult hero of a footballer.

He was amazing in his first stint at City.

Anyway back to Lucas Moura. Would be an absolutely amazing signing if Comolli could pull it off. I reckon he'll probably end up somewhere like PSG though.

Nice to have names like this being thrown in the mix.

My sense though is that DC and the club are enquiring about alot of players, sounding reps and agents out, to hustle accordingly. Exactly as we should be doing. And maybe we're going to hear about it through squeaks and asides in various media international and domestic. Signatures might not come, but its all part of the hustle.

An article Vickery wrote which includes a lot on Lucas.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/tim_vickery/02/22/brazil.ronaldo/index.html

Quote
Perhaps that talk will die down now. The recent South American Under-20 Championships in Peru was something of a triumph for Sao Paulo. Brazil captain Bruno Uvini, injured during the campaign, is a Sao Paulo player. So too is talented striker Henrique. Even more impressive was big, all-round midfielder Casemiro. And best of all was right-sided attacking midfielder Lucas, the hero as Brazil was crowned South American champion.

With perfect timing, Lucas chose exactly the right moment to leave a good impression in the tournament -- the last game, with the title at stake. Uruguay only needed a draw, and for 40 minutes on a pitch suffering from the effects of heavy rain, they looked well on the way. Then came the Lucas show, with two goals in quick succession.
For the first he ran on to receive a ball pulled back from the left, made space and hit a precise shot back across the keeper. The second was a superb solo effort, charging through from half way, outpacing everyone to slip home from a narrow angle. The game and the title were in the bag. And just to make sure no one forgot him, at the end of the game he completed his hat trick, rounding off the 6-0 rout with a vicious cross shot.

It was the type of performance that Lucas had been threatening throughout the competition. In all previous games he had only scored once, despite setting up a multitude of chances for himself. Team play is not yet his speciality. Indeed, at times he seems to play in a tunnel, with no peripheral vision. But with surprising strength, astonishing pace and dancing feet, Lucas charged and slalomed his way through many a defense in Peru. Both physically and in playing style, he bears comparison with Arsenal's Theo Walcott.
It was another resemblance, though, that marked the start of his career. Until a few months ago he was known as Marcelinho, the consequence of a perceived likeness with 1990s star Marcelinho Carioca. But as he made his name in the Sao Paulo first team, it hardly seemed appropriate that the name belonged to an idol of local rivals Corinthians. So in the middle of last year's Brazilian Championship he switched to Lucas, his genuine Christian name.

He perhaps benefited from an unusual year in the recent history of Sao Paulo. Mid table, they were not in serious contention for a Copa Libertadores place, still less the title, and the new boy took his first steps with the pressure off.

All that has now changed. Lucas is now in the spotlight. Good displays are no longer a bonus. They are now expected. But he is being well rewarded. His exploits in Peru brought Lucas a 900 percent pay rise from Sao Paulo. He is not planning to go anywhere soon. His stated aim is to play for the club in the Libertadores, making the middle of next year his earliest possible departure date. But it is clear that a move to Europe is well in his sights, for motives both professional and financial -- a reported clause in his new contract gives him the right to 20 percent of the transfer fee. Lucas has been built for export.

His club coach, Paulo Cesar Carpegiani, is a big fan. But experience has taught him to be wary. A decade ago he was one of Adriano's first coaches as the strong left-footed striker launched his career with Flamengo. Adriano's subsequent story, with his alcohol problems, is a cautionary tale of the possible negative consequences of early fame and fortune. It can be hard enough coping with all this at home. An early move abroad can add an extra strain on a young mind in formation.

If it was the mirror, the mail, the express, the star etc we wouldnt believe a word of it, I see nom reason to believe this is going to happen.
