Modric's gone.
Harry wants more funds to bid for every striker in Europe who's scored more then 15 in their domestic leagues, and he needs cash to do it.
Just holding out for 30m+, imo.

Then if Spurs fails, he can blame the Modric sale which was 'forced upon him' after they finish 10'th and he'l be free to take the England job.

Modric is pure class, would take him before any other midfielder in the EPL without a doubt. He runs the show for Spurs and would be the biggest loss possible for them, £35mill minimum. He'd get a game for ANYONE in my opinion. Spurs should dig their heels in big time.

Gotta laugh at people saying that the bid is a joke. Chelsea have every right to try and get the player as cheap as they want, the same as Spurs have every right to try and get the most they can for him.

thats a derisory offer for a player of that calibre. Villa want 20 million of us for Downing. going by that and what we paid for henderson and what Man Utd paid for Jones, Spurs have every right to be annoyed by that offer.

I think £30 million is fair given the current going rate. It'll be interesting to see if you United are prepared to get involved and bid? If they've got this huge transfer fund you'd assume they will? Equally it says a great deal about Spurs, are we seeing them return to their normal level (around 6th)? Were the last couple of years just a short-term bubble fuelled by some big spending?

Spurs always end up selling to balance the books. They may spend a lot with transfers but their wage bill is almost half of the likes of United/City/Chelsea. 40m less than the likes of Arsenal.

I think Modric will stay one more season (fingers crossed) then go for a big fee next summer.

I think Barcelona tried a small offer on Fabregas last season and that backfired

Redknapp is attacking an offer he admits he doesn't even know has been made. He's also attacking players like Henderson by-proxy to make his point (good luck managing England with players not fit to lace Modric's boots!)

Yet if this offer does actually exist, it is not a final offer. This is a football transfer for God's sake. If there's competition for Modric, as you'd expect there to be, you're not going to bid £30 million straight away.

It's a ridiculous non-story at this point.
