There is still one round left in the 2nd Division league season. The four teams in the play offs will be Granada, Elche, Celta Vigo and either Valladolid or Xerez (most likely Valladolid).   The second leg of the play off final is 19th June.

If you had to choose one mate....

Aguero, Rossi, Cesc, Sanchez, Pastore?

1- Aguero
2- Sanchez
3- Pastore
4- Rossi

Aguero because there is a need of another striker more so than attacking midfielder.  So between Aguero and Rossi i'd probably take Aguero, although the Maradona circus that's sure to follow could be annoying.  Then between Pastore and Sachez, Pastore has more quality but i think Sanchez would fit better into the philosophy of pressing without the ball, works extremely hard and is not a bad footballer at all.  Pastore would seem like a bit of a luxury, already having Messi.  And i like Rossi but out of those four...

Just to see how Pep fits him into the system? ;D

edit- and yes i would sign Cesc regardless of the other names.  There is the thing about Thiago and Sergi Roberto but Thiago is more of an Iniesta type and Xavi being 31 and with the recent problems of his Achilles, you just don't know when a player is going to break down so... The problems are the big transfer fee and big salary that he'd probably command.

So that come 2014 Pastore and Messi are like what Xavi is to Iniesta and vice versa. It will give the Argies a huge boost.

Pastore and Messi are really superb together. Thet can find each other from anywhere, but as you say... how do you fit him into the team?

Another question, would you take Rooney ahead of Aguero and Rossi?

Aguero angling for a move to Real, surprising with Barca in the marketplace but I suppose he feels he could end up being a benchwarmer at Camp Nou. Rossi is a good signing with Bojan going the other way it seems. That should improve the squad.  Real made good progress since the 5-0 but next season will have to win either the league or the CL to keep Mourinho in situ. The CL seems very difficult to defend so I think Barca may lose that but they will just outclass the opposition in at least 30 of the 38 liga matches. Teams don't have the same fear/respect for Real especially away from home. The Barca players deserve a good rest this summer, their first full summer hol since 2007 but I seem Messi is playing the copa america from July1-24th. Crazy stuff. Last year in early August he was in S Korea on a pre season tour with Barca and a journalist asked him what he thought of the country and he said "I'm so tired I don't know what country I'm in."

Another question, would you take Rooney ahead of Aguero and Rossi?

Yeah, like you said they already 'speak the same language'.   It's like when Xavi, Iniesta and Messi start playing 'rondos' around opposing teams.  Pastore has that type of touch and brilliance to him.  The Pep joke is that Checho Batista has said many times that he wants Argentina to play like Barcelona so that they can get the best out of Messi but how to do that when you don't have the midfielders to control the game the way Barça do?  I like that he's tried Banega but he's so inconsistent that I'm not sure you can rely on him.   Pastore is really an 'enganche' which is what Messi basically does now.   So if you take out a CM to put Pastore you lose something in the middle.  Then you probably have to choose between Di Maria and Pastore.  Argentina are pretty much casting their full-back situation (they're even looking at Insua) so the only proven width they have is Di Maria.

And Rooney from a pure footballing sense would fit perfectly at Barça.  Works for the team and is very strong despite not being tall and his goal against Barça showed that he wouldn't be out of place playing one-two's with the likes of Xavi-Iniesta-Messi.  The question mark would be more about his character and the whole English player in La Liga (or outside of England in general) question mark.

I've heard that Mourinho has found Barca out tactically, so Real will probably win it easily.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Always Cesc.

Messi will provide the goals regardless and they still have David Villa. Aguero, Rossi, Pastore etc. are so young that they can always be picked up later, but Cesc should be a priority.

With Xavi nearing his retirement and Iniesta's little injuries here and there someone like Cesc will complement their squad more next season than the others.

Rumours from the press have linked Vertonghen to Barça in the past.  What's your take on him? Is he any good? How much would he cost? And, can he defend in a high line?

Vertonghen was voted as 2nd best player after Stekelenburg among Ajax supporters for this past season.

His strength lies in that he's very versatile, like most Ajax defenders he's actually a converted midfielder, so he's not afraid to dribble the ball from our own defense towards the opponent's box. He's actually very good at it.

This year has been his breakout season and he's very honest in saying that he feels that he's finally ready to move. Others like Eriksen and VDW have also attracted attention, but prefer to stay because they want to learn more in Amsterdam.

Ajax play similar like Barcelona in that we often have the ball so defending in a high line wouldn't be a problem and Ajax have the best defensive record in de Eredivisie for a couple seasons running now.

Not sure about his pricetag, but couldn't be more than 15 mil. knowing that he's a defender and we usually don't hassle around like Porto or Benfica. Ajax are a bit cautious however after comments made by Wenger about how he couldn't believe for how cheap he got Vermaelen (€12 million).

Keep in mind, Barcelona's squad was razor thin this season - they were really lucky that they didn't suffer more than one or two big injuries.  An injury to any of the big-3 would clear the path for Madrid to come through.
In Brendan, we trust.  In Rafa, we love.

Barcelona just created an area for supporters, which will be located on the north goal of the Camp Nou only for groups of that loud supporters, 4000 of they will be, who will pay a 50% less for every ticket, and they will have the stand exclusively for them in every game and a local inside the nou camp for the material, let's see how it goes in terms of animations, looks good.

Cheers for the info.

Regarding Rossi, if Sport are to be believed, his salary would be around the €3m mark annually plus incentives.  Aguero, on the other hand,  would likely demand twice that amount (or more) based on his reputation and the interest he has from other top teams. And he would cost a good 15m more or so than Rossi.  So, if Barcelona want to make other signings to strengthen the squad it makes more sense to go after Rossi than Aguero.

Probably better off not going to Barca yet anyway.

He'd be better off going to a club in Europe not Barca or Real.

Gives him a chance to play European football and develop with regular playing time.
