Will Brad Wiggins do enough in today`s time trial to get
the overall, looked a bit knackered yesterday.

Christ that's one hell of a ride from Wiggins! Chain off and still wins the stage by 0.7 seconds and the race overall by 12 seconds.

That was bang out of order by Ferrari, Cav was lucky some other rider managed to bunny hop over him whilst he was flat out on the tarmac.

Just caught up with all this, shocking from Ferrari. If Renshaw got lashed out of Le Tour for fighting for position then Ferrari needs booting from this, with a ban and a fine.

Mark Cavendish ‏ @MarkCavendish
Ouch! Crashing at 75kph isn't nice! Nor is seeing Roberto Ferrari's manoeuvre. Should be ashamed to take out Pink, Red & World Champ jerseys

Mark Cavendish ‏ @MarkCavendish
Apparently Roberto Ferrari has said to journalists, when asked about the incident, that he can't see what happens behind him & doesn't care.

Mark Cavendish ‏ @MarkCavendish
Is the team of Roberto Ferrari or the UCI going to do the right thing? Other riders, including myself, have been sent home for much less.

No doubt Cav, G and various other riders will get a slap on the wrist for their twitter comments but Ferrari will ride again tomorrow. He's just ruined any chance of his team getting help for the whole season though. Reckless, but beyond that it's fucking disrespectful. Throw him out.

Just heard he won't ride tomorrow .............. it's a rest day  ;)

Really was bad enough to thoroughly deserve throwing out the Giro but yeah it's an Italian in their race and it stinks!!

Like G's take on it 'You can get suspended in football for a 2 footed challenge,or a spear tackle in rugby. Kick Ferrari out Giro for crashing 10guys at 60kph!!!'

Giro d'Italia 2012: Ryder Hesjedal becomes Canada's first grand tour winner following thrilling final day time-trial.

Ryder Hesjedal won the Giro d'Italia in Milan on Sunday after the Canadian finished the final-day 31.5-kilometre individual time-trial 47 seconds quicker than overnight leader Joaquim Rodríguez to leapfrog the Spaniard and win the biggest stage race of his career by just 16secs.

The 31 year-old became the first Canadian to win a grand tour - Giro, Tour de France and Vuelta a España - following a tense time-trial that had been spiced up following Saturday's Cima Coppi stage that saw Thomas De Gendt ride into contention after the Belgian put over three minutes into general classification favourites Rodríguez and Hesjedal.

Hesjedal started his time-trial in Milan 31 seconds adrift of the maglia rosa, overall leader Rodríguez, while De Gendt who was fifth in the general classification overnight, trailed the Canadian by one minute 47secs.

While De Gendt, himself a decent time-triallist, was chasing overall victory it was always going to be a big call for the Vacansoleil-DCM rider who had produced the ride of his life to claim stage 20 on the summit of the Passo dello Stelvio just 24 hours previously.

Hesjedal who is considered stronger in the 'race of truth' than Rodríguez, though, remained favourite to regain the maglia rosa which he had worn for five days of the three-week stage. Indeed, as expected Hesjedal proved too strong for the Spaniard and, though De Gendt paid the price for his exertions on Saturday, the Belgian still managed to ride into third spot in the general classification to claim a creditable podium finish.

Two weeks off work for me to enjoy the last 2 weeks of the Tour.

Wouldn't have minded watching Critérium du Dauphiné live, but nothing showing it so might try and catch a few live streams this week. Sammy Sanchez must have been involved in a crash, came in with 2 team mates 24 mins down today. Brad the early leader overall.

S. Sanchez and Fedrigo in pain
Two riders crashed at km 47: Samuel Sanchez (EUS) and Pierrick Fedrigo (FDJ). It took twenty kilometers to the Frenchman to make his way back into the peloton but the Olympic champion struggled far behind. As the doctors suspected that he suffered broken ribs, the Spaniard called two of his team-mates in help with the aim of continuing race despite the pain and his deficit growing up to over 23 minutes at the end

Anyways it looks like Cadel Evan's is 5/2 favorite to win it out right this year.

Also does Wiggins have it in him win it this year? ... he is 2nd favorite after all.

Also if you're forced to pick one, who is your dark horse this year?

Bet365 have Wiggins as the fave, would be surprised if any different. I can see Sky going all out to make sure he gets it too. Cav to grab his usual 3-5 stage wins, not going for Green and possibly pulling out in the last week to go for the Olympics. Barring another unlucky crash like last year Wiggins to be up there on the podium I hope.

Outside bet? Pierre Rolande at 33/1  ;D
