I like jonjo but tweeting about your fustrations is not the way to go. To be fair though he should be starting from now to the end of the season, i can see him giving more than others have thus far.

No we don't need that sort of shite attitude at all.

I'd hope he is fuming and I hoped he'd get his chance but if it is him tweeting that then he needs to keep this sort of shit held in until he's in the club.

If it is genuine then it's pretty fucking unprofessional

You don't think we need players with self belief mate? Agree that twitter is not the best way to get his frustration out, but it is probably not his first choice either. Reckon he has let Kenny and the staff know that he wants to play already. I'd rather see a player with self belief than a player with no self belief. Downing being the example of the season, no?
If he was Dudek would've saved it...and there would be no film.

True, but he said "we don't need that sort of shite attitude at all." As if is was a bad thing non stop. Shelvey, as far as I'm concerned, has showed quality as well as self belief. Gerrard has plenty of self belief, and look how he turned out. Shelvey is still a young talented lad.

If you need to choose Shelvey or Adam...
It is a very obvious choice cuz we need CHANGE.

I don't know the reason of picking Adam, perphas he has more experience is for sure; a better training performance?
I don't see why not we rotate Henderson and Shelvey with Gerrard and Spearing supporting either one of them

Adam isn't going to get much better than he is. not liverpool class but Shelvey is young and full of potential. A yuong lad with confidence is maybe what we need for that enthusiasm to rub of on others around him

confidence is low.what's the point of chucking a young player into such an atmosphere?

adam on current level is way better than jonjo.the best 11 need to start to get some sort of run going.if this guy is that good he'll get his chance.

nemeth, pacheco and all the players who people whined were not getting chances aren't doing much now.

there's still time for him.cuenca is just getting games at the age of 20 in a side far better than ours

He won't be with us for long, especially if he's come out with those comments.

I'm gutted for him, because he definitely deserves a chance ahead of the likes of Adam and even Henderson.

He is a very talented prospect and he should be getting some minutes.

He should also act like an adult, a professional, get off twitter, and get his head down.
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

I'd say the reverse makes more sense. If the side were doing much better and playing really well, getting the results and all, I reckon even Shelvey's biggest sympathisers would understand.
The fact that he is not getting even a sniff despite others under-performing isn't really fair and quite odd to be honest.
If he isn't given a chance now, when will he be?

I'm not really arsed as i don't rate him that highly to be honest. I just find it strange though because Kenny seemed so keen to give him all the minutes he could last season, played him anywhere and everywhere on the pitch, yet he can't buy one at the moment. I'd also imagine that the idea was to give him some minutes when we called him back?

Now I'm not one for mindless speculation but something has clearly gone on, probably a massive irrecoverable falling out of some kind.

Bigbear on the youth thread said quite a while back that he'd fallen out with the coaching staff after the Sporting game in the NextGen (when he played shite but was ill). He's had the start against Villa since then, but yeah, he's not seemed like a favourite, which he seemed to be when Kenny tookover.

If memory serves people were suggesting that Kenny's comments when Shelvey was at Blackpool weren't great either, but personally I think people are prone to trying to deduce tone from text far too often.

He's only young ease up a bit. Remember seeing games like Bolton, Sunderland and then tonight think about being sat on the bench for these games and seeing players fuck up simple chances. He probably feels like he could have contributed something worthwhile, that would be incredibly frustrating for anyone. Also the one game he did start in the league Villa away he played very well and played a part in both of our goals.
Where once we watched the King Kenny play, and could he play.

How he hasn't got more of a chance is beyond me.. I know he's young but FFS Adam and Henderson haven't done anything close enough to be so far ahead of him in the pecking order

Fucking Henderson could not have been more invisible!!  Had to say it...I can't take it....he was fucking hiding against QPR!!!

Seriously though, i can actually believe that he was being genuine, but you have to have a bit of self awareness and realise how people would interpret that.

I tend to agree. But than again it gives them a platform to talk to people if they have been misquoted in interviews etc. It's not for everyone though as you are guaranteed to get a lot of criticism on there. Look at Gibson deleting his account within an hour because of abuse from his own club's "fans".

Absolute travesty that he hasn't been in the starting 11. I don't know how Charlie Adam even gets a game for us, especially with such a talented, dynamic youngster on the bench. Shelvey is being completely mishandled. Just like Coates, who I doubt would have gotten in the game had it not been for Kelly's injury. Coates and Shelvey NEED to be starting every league game from now until the end of the season. I'd even go 3 or 5 in the back when Agger gets back, just to fit Coates in more games.

I think Kenny's handling of the youth has been disgusting. They're just wasting away, with players that don't factor in to the club's future playing in front of them.

Feel so sorry for this lad having to sit on the bench watching Charlie Adam run around without a clue.

He's got his entire career ahead of him, incredible potential and the managment treat him like this? Deserves better.

I bet he got a lot of stick from people for the tweet from today. He shouldnt have tweeted it, but what he said was the truth.

Very true.

It looks bad on the manager if Adam is dropped because he was the one who spent the money on him. Same thing happened with Carroll, he wasnt playing well, had to be dropped, manager gets slated for buying the guy in the first place.

I feel as though its reached the point where Kenny has to just accept that for the most part of this season, Adam has a been completely out of his depth and has been a poor signing. Henderson can get away with being dropped because hes ' one for the future '

Stick Shelvey out there and he will be keen to impress and will work his arse off. The only thing at risk really is Kenny's judgement and thats what is holding him back from dropping Adam.

adam on current level is way better than jonjo

Is he though? like, is he really? hand on heart, with Liverpool's record when Adam starts, is his current level better that Shelvey's?

What's Adam's record 9 and 1? What does Kenny see in him that makes him
persist with him instead of trying out Shelvey, Henderson, even Coady FFS. I can't come up with any reasoning why Adam shod start, let alone persistently.
