Nice to read the positive words in that interview. To be honest, I thought he was off.

Should mean he's had word of some positive transfer aspirations and movement. Lets just hope they come off now.

He was on spanish radio last night saying he is staying. He was then asked about the possibility of going to united which he responded to as 'never!'. Looks like the main man is now stayin!!!! YNWA

thatīs the most important thing, more important than any summer transfer...basicly our rebuilding starts with keeping Pepe at the club.

What stirkes me about his penalty keeping is that even if he doesnt save them he goes the right way most of the time.

Pepe is 28 now, which for most outfield players is roughly the age where they reach their peak. Torres obviously wasn't willing to give us another few years to rebuild even though he is still only 27. Perhaps he felt he would end up spending the best years of his career trophyless, which was probably what motivated him to leave. (Not that I think he'll be collecting many medals at Chelsea either though)

Pepe on the other hand has yet to reach his peak IMO. As great a keeper as he currently is, I still think he will improve in the coming years. And as seen with the likes of Van Der Sar, Friedel, and Shwarzer to name but a few, goalkeepers generally have a longer shelf life than outfield players. He has more time on his side. If he does end up staying I can see him remaining as our first choice keeper for 8 years or more. In which time he will (hopefully) bag a few league medals.

Pepe has 10 years ahead of him imo..

This.

And one simply cannot underestimate the positive energy Kenny and the new owners have brought to the club. If we, the fans, feel 10 feet tall at the moment, Im sure the players do to.

Jesus it was only a couple of months ago or so on the eve of the United game that Pepe made all the noises about him leaving. Our form lately must surely be a factor in his apparent u-turn. We're on the up and noone is better placed than Pepe Reina to see that.

I'm really glad he looks like staying and hope he does.

He'd be a player I'd hate to try and replace.

I'd rather have him than any other keeper we could sign. His value to the squad is much higher than any value with a pound sign in front of it.
I'm really hoping Sturridge busts out the wacky dip when he scores.

Based on what he said, he's obviously had some assurances of positive times ahead.  I particularly like the fact that he thinks we'll be signing 'some important players'.

^ That's what I was wondering too.  I'd thought we'd bring back someone more reputable but Achterberg should suffice.  He's quite new to the job though.
Btw he was a class keeper for tranmere and had a good career. He was probally tranmeres best player for 5 years

You chat some shit you do. Had it not been for Pepe last season we wouldn't have even been in the top 10 thats how important he is to us. Too much respect to United? Why don't you listen to what Carragher has to say about them? The fact of the matter is that they have earnt this respect irrespective of what we may feel about them. Stop chattin absolute shite.
When we go there I hope we defile their goal. I want us to deflower it like it was their little sister being betrothed to an old fat nobleman executing his right of prima nocta like in the Medieval times.

And Pepe doesn't? Because you know him so well?
When did he ever categorically come out and say he didn't want to be here?
Never. And your having a go at him because you "would rather have someone who wants to be here".
Stop trying to wind people up. He's being positive, sticking with the club.
He knows we are going in the right direction and he wants to be apart of it.
