I wont say I'm new as you can tell that by post counts but I can see plenty of "other such bollocks".. If Meireles won this award then why are people moaning and commenting he's shite..
I bet a few weren't saying he was shite when he scored against Chelsea, the Bitters, Wolves or Wigan.. Granted he's had a few ropey games but show me someone in Red that hasn't this season..
I thought we closed ranks and supported our own and backed them when they achieved something..

There are some stupid fucktards on here.

To the people asking why x, y ad z players deserved it more, look at the list of possible winners. They are voted as a winner from each month Aug through March, Meireles was Feb best players, Luiz- March, Torres- October etc. These players then fight it out for the overall winner. It is not a player of the year so to speak but they best player of one of the winning months, you stupid, stupid bastards.

Congrats to him for winning! Again, he had one good month, not a good season, but therein lies the fault of the competition, not the voting system.

Candidates were David Luiz, Samir Nasri, Torres, Berbatov and Rooney. The fact that Nasri actually won Fans Player of the Month 3 times this season shows he probably should've taken it.

Whether it was deserved or not is your opinion, but the fact remains that he came to LFC at a very rough time, got played around with Hodgson when he didn't know what to do. Yet, he still managed to keep his head up put in very solid performances, won us many points this season and became a key player. Sure, he's got a few suspect performances but as it was mentioned above, I think all of our squadmembers can't say they haven't had one as well.

Haven't watched a lot of West Ham this year but every time I have, he has stood head and shoulders above every other player. A bit like a certain Steven Gerrard for about 3 or 4 seasons

I wouldn't say the vote campaign on here got much momentum though. This is only Page 2 of this thread - and its only gone to page 2 since he's been announced as the winner. Its more likely that the broader population of casual voters have lumped for Raul over the other less palatable options and there's no shame in how well Raul performed for the month relevant to his nomination.
