And they're getting it. "The Truth" is DLC coming out in April/May-ish and will be the proper ending to ME3 (which was intended all along). There's theories that support the RGC segment is not what it seems.

I still cannot believe that we are now going to have the first video game to be released without an actual ending, and we have to pay for the ending separately.

1. allegedly. fingers crossed, but it's not confirmed.

2. fallout 3 says hi.

Are you sure Bioware are going to change it? Because an interview with Dr. Ray Muzyka (I think) said they wanted to get people talking about the ending, to make it memorable. They also said that they wouldn't change the ending with DLC. I'd be kind of disappointed/ angry if I had to pay to get a different ending. I doubt they'll create an entirely separate and more valid shitstorm than the one they're currently embroiled in.

The ending wasn't the best but I can live with it.

IF they are to release a new ending DLC I would be very disappointed with Bioware and EA screwing over fans who have already forked out £35 to play a game they luv, so.......................

Just finished the game and, overall, I loved it. I don't share some people's outrage at the ending, but I do think it was poor and that the major canon endings all leave a lot to be desired. MINOR SPOILERS I think, after 5 years of investment, it isn't too much to ask for an ending where everything is all right in the end. Cliched perhaps, but I'm sure many share my sentiments. It was a build up with an uneasy release. At the end of such an epic trilogy, a cathartic payoff was a must. I personally just wanted what we'd been fighting for all along. The reapers destroyed and the first cycle of organic life allowed to continue beyond their time of destruction. And Shepard to survive. Maybe even some sort of hint at a brighter future rather than some of the strange/ pointless goings on that you see. END SPOILERS A terrific game, truly. I thought that my fanboy love would exclude me from disliking the ending, but I was wrong. I don't think Bioware will change it, but I certainly wouldn't mind a Fallout 3 style, do-over, in amongst substantial DLC.

The more I think about it the more I am REALLY REALLY hoping that they don't change the ending, because the ending we've got doesn't suit our wants, and in reality very little goes the way we want it.

I'm taking the ending as messed up as it is, as it could well be that is the maddening choices of life, they are not what we want, sometimes we live between a rock and a hard place, and the choices for us can be between crap, crapper and crappiest. Luv this game to bits!!!!!!!!!!!

I was absolutely gutted though to find that we STILL dont know what the Quarians look like DAMMIT.

MINOR SPOILERS Whilst the pursuit of the 'real' might be what Bioware was aiming for in some ways, and I hold your point as extremely valid, it was just so lacking in the cathartic satisfaction that I'd come to expect. Undeservedly entitled? Perhaps, but I think reality is a very isolated, contextual point when considering the game's embeddedness as a whole. 'The differance creates the real.' I just wanted everything to be ok! Needed a Return of the Jedi/ King esque, everythings 'good' in the end clip. Bioware could have still illustrated your 'realism' point, I mean, the Reapers killed billions, so everything is obviously not all right in the end. Destruction averted, but not disaster. Mix in celebration with despair that many would be in. Having said that, you have to applaud Bioware, the temptation to deliver the formulaic ending that would have appeased the likes of me would have been huge. Good to see a bit of bravery, even if it deems to have backfired.

Anyone know how to get a gamepad to work for this? I seem to remember there was a mod that did that for ME2.

Normally, I wouldn't mind K&M but I'm on a laptop without a mouse and the track pad isn't exactly ideal for shooting bad guys.

Playing it at the moment and I'm enjoying it. It's nice seeing your fleet grow every time you do something. I have also had some decisions from the second one that have had an influence on what happens in the third one. Well done.
I have also bought Mass Effect 1. Will have another go at all three parts once I've finished my first play-through. (played the first one on Xbox, started a new game with ME2 on PC).

Cheers, will give it a go after the match. Proper annoyed with the track pad at this point. Had to lower combat difficulty to easy for the sole reason that's fucking impossible to take aim.

ME 1 is immense mate, but don't expect too much. After the sequels, the graphics look very poor and the shooting is awful. Arguably though, it's got the best RPG elements and it's one of my all-time favourite games. Always enjoy games more when you're young....

I know that it's good. I've already played it when it came out (well, a couple of months later) on my XBox. I've already given it a try on PC and the graphics don't really bother me. The interface does though, because it's so much better in ME2/3. And the millions and millions of different weapons you can get... ;)

I'm currently stuck in a mission in ME3.

Finished my first play through a couple of days ago using my favourite ME2 save. Got to say I really enjoyed it, even though the ending wasn't really what I wanted I didnt dislike it. It was a touch of a shame the game was so linear, but since Earth is attacked in the very first scene the designers really gave themselves nowhere to go, as you couldnt of had the player roaming around the Milky Way chillin', while Earth was being destroyed! It wouldnt of made sense. Overall I loved it, there was loads to enjoy, but I just wanted it to be bigger, grander, more expansive, particuarly after the near perfection that was ME2.

You do see what she looks like, it's a crappy photoshopped image though, not her actual in-game model. I think Bioware had built themselves up with that where whatever they would have done to her face it probably would have sent half of the fandom into a rage.

I have to say, I have read a lot of criticism about the ending and I'm looking forward to seeing it myself. So far, I only kind of know where it is all going and I don't like the sound of it. I might be feeling differently after I have completed the game though.

So far, I can say that this is the game that has touched me the most out of all the games I have ever played. In a way, it has achieved that with the easiest of techniques: repetition and decisions. Have a trilogy where almost every character turns up again one way or the other and you'll have a good foundation. What makes it special , is that you get to take so many decisions that really influence what happens to them. You have people you like/dislike for various reasons and they're with you for basically three games. And you get to decide whether they live or die. For certain (cut-)scenes I was glued to the screen waiting for what is going to happen. Other times, I was just swearing at bad guys or celebrating after I had beaten them. The only game that comes close to that roller-coaster-ride of emotions is Football Manager (for slightly different reasons). Regardless of what happens in the end, Bioware have created a great game. In terms of immersion it is miles ahead of every other game I know. Not only, because you feel part of the world (you do that in Skyrim as well), but because you start feeling for the characters. I mean, I didn't cry when someone I liked died, but it certainly felt sad, that that guy was not part of my crew anymore.

Got the game on Friday and I've been playing it everyday and racked up about 20 hours now. Only just got past Priority: Citadel after doing loads of side missions and stuff so I think i'm still in the early game. Great game so far and I like how the effects of your decisions in the past two games show up. Although I get the feeling when you compare it with the previous two games it seems a little dumbed down. When in dialogue for example you essentialy get three choices on what to say. A "question" choice on the left where you ask for more information and on the right a single "good" choice on the top and a single "renegade" choice on the bottom.

they showed her face. on a crappy stock photoshop job.

well done.

Lie-oware.

Seen that. Think it's a massive cop out from Bioware after all the fan speculation for them to just pull out a random picture from google images rather than do something original as the Tali situation warranted. Apparantly (although I see no reason why it wouldn't be true) Bioware had concept art for what Quarians look like. Why would they just throw it out of the window and do what is essentialy a last minute job?

I wanted to see her too! Damnit!

Starting a new ME2 game and as I am PS3 I am doing the backstory for Liara this time, or maybe Ashley actually, I liked Mirada, her accent is fit too and her scene in ME2 is noice but she is difficult in ME3. Bitch.

They say that the ME Universe does not end here, there will be more but just with new characters and whatnot... beating this trilogy's storyline is gonna be some task mind!! The only thing I can think off would be something set in the days of the Prothean Empire, with them as bad guys trying to expand their empire and you being some up and coming civilization fighting for independence or something, I dunno...
