PSV - Benfica
Twente - Villareal

Interesting matches! PSV - Benfica is replay of EC1 1988 final

Didn't Fulham beat Shakhtar away last season?

Unless Shaktar have played 56 times at home this season, then I'd guess they didn't.

Gotta be honest, that was my first thought, if you ran a probability scenario of the likelihood of the continual meetings of eng v eng over the last 5 years in the CL i'd be very surprised if the draws came out lookin fair

then again i'm not a fan of conspiracy theories

i think it's that blatant none are needed  :D

With so many English teams involved in the final stages it is not surprise that you get an all English tie. And I am a fan of some conspiracy theories :D

You think they're just going to stroll past them? Great attacking talent but if they're not on their game they'll have to defend better imo as Spurs will cause them problems. Jose's strength has always been his defensive organisation but I'm not sure he's got the right players for that at the moment, and Madrid being Madrid he'll be expected to play with a lot more freedom.
Jose is finding a way to mix both worlds..and for the most part is winning ( Barcelona are on another planet ). They wont stroll past Spurs but it shouldnt be too difficult.

Would have been good to play City..oh well.

It must be 56 home league games because Barcelona and Sporting beat them in last years Champions League group stages.

Fulham drew 1-1.

For those saying Chelsea/Utd have a bye to the final cause they're playing Inter/Schalke.

I think Inter will be tougher than Real over 2 legs. 1 leg is different I think Real would beat them in a final.

Couldn't have picked a better quarter-final draw in that one of the two teams I really don't want to win it will be going out. Just a shame that whoever comes through that one has a nice path to the final. What are Inter like these days under Leonardo? How do they compare to say for example, the side that knocked Chelsea out 12 months ago or the Bayern one that did the same to United?

I'm looking forward to the Spurs v Madrid match, as well as the prospect of Madrid v Barca over two legs. Reckon the Wheeler Dealer and his boys could surprise a few though.

They've always looked beatable to me but they've pulled through due to having some class forwards and a very stong mentality. And for me you cannot stress enough how important mental strength is at this stage - they've been there, done it, don't give up and have players to pull shit out of the bag.

The big concern is their defense, has looked pretty ropey of late

Possibility of a Barca - Real Madrid semi-final is a mouth-watering prospect. Doubt if the way Barca took them apart 5-0 would be repeated. If it comes off, it'll be an epic.

They are a different kettle of fish to Inter and AC.

Schalke simply aren't good enough and Inter are not the team they were last year - think there's undue optimism on here that one of them won't be in the final as it looks pretty nailed on

Thing about Inter is that they're improving steadily under Leonardo. Defensively they have looked weaker this season, as almost all of the back 5 have suffered a loss of form, and Samuel is injured, but that said, they are getting better.

Milito has suffered a huge dip, and has been a complete non-entity this season, but to counter that, Eto'o is probably THE form striker in European football at the moment.

Bayern are a very good side with an average defence. But Inter managed to knock out a side with Piggy, Muller, Gustavo, Robben, Ribery, Gomez + Lahm. They'll be no pushovers.

i think if ferguson had one wish it would have been to get drawn in the opposite side of the draw to barcelona and real madrid.
united will be made up with that draw, you`ve obviously got to play good sides once you get into this stage of the competition but to avoid the two favourites until the final makes that a great draw for united.

Hahahahaha the general consensus amongst English folk is that Chelsea/United are in the final already. Ignorance is bliss. Has anyone seen the c*nts playing lately? Love how they are going to just swat Inter/Schalke to one side...

The winner will be in the final. Definitely.
