Bloody sick and tired of modern "insta-success" footballers. You gotta work hard if you want to achieve anything in life.

Its an easy rumour this one to keep rolling along.

We all know most of his spanish mates have left along with Rafa and his staff. Arsenal & Man Utd presumably both looking for keepers so its an easy column filler.

However he made noises about not committing his eternal love for a club. He is stating the obvious by saying we have a re building process in the coming years and he is spot on with saying this.

Dont be surprised if he leaves but i think we have a fight to keep hold of him.
The Liverpool way!!!

I've accepted that he will leave, if Arsenal really comes up with 20m.
I won't stand it if he went to the mancs though. That just can't happen.

Can't see him going to Arsenal because: a.) they've got a very good keeper in Szczeseny and it's against Arsenal's grain to stifle young talent...  and b) don't think Wenger will pay over the odds for a goalkeeper no matter how good he is.

will never happen, remember the Heinze fiasco? Kenny should threaten the mancs to go to court if that happens.

Anyways, regarding Pepe, I agree with most of you that if he wants to leave then let him go but get the greatest bid available.

Its all opinion but London is always a big lure for (rich) foreign players. I dont agree with your asessment of Szczeseny, and if Wenger can bring in Jens Lehman, then Pepe is a youngster by comparison- and Arsenal could easily afford whatever Pepe would cost. And his mate Nando is there.

I don't think that Pepe leaving is nailed on, I do think it is highly likley.

Shit is the wrong word BUT the guy has howlers that let in shite goals and his distribution is no where near reinas which is a real asset to a team like barca and let's not forget he's a barca lad so it would be bringing back a top player into the fold. Valdes also has a Real problem coming for corners and his concentration isn't up there with the best, something you need when your only tested once in a while.

The spent £20m to sit masch on the bench that for a world class starting goalkeeper isnt a problem

Pepe's probably all but gone really, if we're honest. We're all expecting it. Best thing we can hope for is a bidding war, get an obscene amount of cash for him and spend it on the squad. Of course we'll miss him, of course he's been excellent. But as people have been saying for a while. If you want to be here great, if you don't, off you pop.

I was chatting to my Dad about Reina leaving and we both mentioned Given as a replacement.  My only worry is that he had a few injuries and hasn't really played for a while, so nobody really knows how fit he is.

Great keeper if he's fit though.

luckily there are a number of quality keepers around to replace pepe if he does go.

id seriously doubt he would go to the mancs.
arsenal may go for him but imo they would probably trade a player or two rather than spend hard cash........id take arshavin and clichy and then go hunting in germant for a keeper....plenty good ones there

Really?? If Reina goes it would be an absolute disaster. There's a reason why Man United are still relying on a 40 year old and want him to stay another season- there's a severe LACK of decent keepers around.

Spot on. Some dreamers think that Pepe would be easy to replace. Will I don't think they ever go to the match to be honest as it's not just his saves that make him a top class keeper it's his communication.

We will struggle to replace him.

If he does say he wants to leave, we can get a lot of cash for him. He's had a lot of teams sniffing around him for the past few season, and only last season (or the season before?) he signed a long term contract. I think we could be looking for around £20 + Mill for him. For that we could probably replace him with someone like Neur who is younger and has more potential.

I love Pepe and think he's been immense but he's starting to piss me off a bit with his interviews trying to engineer himself a way out.

If we lose him I wouldn't be totally gutted as there are keepers out there that we can replace him with that wouldn't affect us that much out on the pitch. It has more affect in the way it makes LFC look, whether we have the pull anymore and put into question our ambitions of can we compete with the best if our best players are leaving left, right and centre.

Don't be suprised though I think he's 50/50 whether he's here next season.

He's ok and he'd fill a gap if Reina leaves and if we're going to be looking for a special keeper.

I just don't think it will be easy to replace him with the names going around recently. It's easy to name these great keepers, but actually managing to buy them will be troublesome. Reina was an amazing prospect that  came to us after we won the Champions League and with the lure of playing alongside international teammates, people easily sprouting off the likes of Neurer and De Gea doesn't mean their clubs will just consider us and sell, especially when there are other clubs looking for keepers too.

Pepe may or may not leave. I can only hope that there's no, or at least limited abuse should he leave. He's done very well for us.

It's more important to ask: Why are we losing our best players, in their prime? Why do they want to leave?

I don't exactly blame him if he leaves (aslong as it's not to Man Utd).  At the end of the day we more than likely will not be playing in Europe at all next season, to think players are just going wait for us to get our shit in order is naive in the extreme.   He's been here 6 years, hopefully if we actually pull our finger out as soon as the windows opens and sign some players and show some ambition he'll stay but as with Torres it might be already decided.

Depends on who he joins. I won't throw abuse at him provided he shuts up now and then if he wants to leave he does so in the summer. But if he does all that and joins Utd, then he will get abuse.

Oh and because we are not a good team, hence the few good players we have do then want to leave.

Laughing at Given suggestions. Shite. If people are happy to let Reina go and replace him with the likes of Given or Hennessey we'll be no higher than 6th for many years to come. Mind you we have already replaced Torres with Andy Carroll.

Absolutely right.

Thursday night said it all for me; we are miles away from the top four.

Many on here seem to have this self righteous belief that players owe the club and they should stick around until they are no longer needed.

In basic terms what makes Pepe the player he is is that he is a winner, and we are miles from winning the big trophies whats in it for him to stay? We cant have it both ways.
