You do realise that the rank and file of Strathclydes finest want this fixture banned. That must be for a reason as no other scottish football fixture has been mentioned in those articles.

And their is a problem with sectarianism in Scottish football. I heard Billy Boys earlier through the tv. (And that is definately sectarian)

Again, Ill state what I said in first place.
Celtic and Rangers fans dont believe for one minute they'd be in the same bracket as Wigan.
They think they'd be much more attractive and successful that the top 4/5. Liverpool included.
And straight away may I add.
Thats what gets my graw.
Now if it came to a choice between Spurs or Villa and the Old Firm?

In the 80s some very decent players went to Rangers for European football because English clubs couldn't offer it. Players go anywhere, with the odd exception.

Your line of argument is a bit confusing. One minute you're saying Celtic and Rangers wouldn't attract anybody then you're saying they wouldn't challenge. There is a middle ground that you're missing out on. Of course Celtic are bigger than Wigan and more attractive. In fact, in terms of support only Liverpool and ManUtd are bigger in England. Given a few years with big money to spend they'd certainly be up there. The PL is becoming crowded in terms of big buyers so they wouldn't dominate but they'd outstrip a big number of PL teams.

If the clubs were on a similar level, yes. What I'm trying to get at is it wouldn't take them long for them to get to that level. Most clubs in England are small fry compared to these two.

Rangers losing the plot here. Completely outplayed by a better team. Diouf's tame free-kick at the end was the only shot they had on goal.

Diouf sent off after the final whistle aswell.

Delighted for Mr. Dilkington, a win in his first old firm game.
