This is the way to leave a club. Wow, he must have been something.
Made up he's ours.
Don't worry Ajax, we'll give him the same worship that you did.

Well in all fa
. Pity torres left the way he did.

Well in all fairness, if Torres tried to do something similar it would have been too awkward since he went to the direct rival of the club he left unlike Suarez, but still yeah...

Bloody hell, that's really touching. I can't imagine anything like that happening in England, sadly. You can see why Ajax were playing hardball over him during negotiations, the fans absolutely love him.

Got a great reception from the Ajax fans and it shows how highly they regarded him. Delighted that he's here and he has already showed some glimpses of real quality in his two games to date. Remember he's just come here having served a lengthy suspension so he wouldn't be 100% match-fit yet. Once he is, he'll wreak havoc for us.
You are either his son or just a total fuckin wanker who I will meet anytime outside the ground to fight if you have any idea where the ground is yer faggot!

I'll say this much. When Rush was leaving us I recall the newsreels and protests of not wanting him to go. I even remember our rejoice at his return

This I've never seen before where a player returns after leaving with such an accolade and warming reception if only to bid farewell. I tip my turban to this man - what an honourable and dignified guy to be revered in such a way and to show reverence back. Real class.

even though im glad he went to Liverpool as i am a huge liverpool fan, im still very sad he left Ajax.

If he had stayed a couple more seasons, even three more seasons, he would have left as clubtopscorer.

And then he would have joined that exclusive club of true Ajax Legends taking his rightfull place next to Cruijff and Van Basten.

A lot of good players have left Ajax since I have had the priviledge of supporting them and this is the first one I truly regret leaving.

Ajax will always be a legendary club and every Liverpool supporter over 40 plus will never forget that side who demolished us in Amsterdam.
Clubs like ours (Liverpool and Ajax) are the stalwarts of European Football.
Real Madrid, AC Milan, Liverpool, Ajax, Bayern Munich,  need I say more? Reluctantly I'd most probably include the Mancs and Barcelona.

If my assistant had not signalled a goal, I would have given a penalty and sent off goalkeeper Patr Cheh. he beeped me to signal the foul. The noise from the crowd  stopped me hearing it, I have been involved at places like Barcelona, Ibrox, Old Trafford, Arsenal, but I've never in my life been involved in such an atmosphere. IT WAS INCREDIBLE

Ajax will always be a legendary club and every Liverpool supporter over 40 plus will never forget that side who demolished us in Amsterdam.
Clubs like ours (Liverpool and Ajax) are the stalwarts of European Football.

Ajax was the side all neutrals wanted to see play, esp the so-called total-football era where their players were the core of that incredible dutch national team and still remains one of my favourite sides of all time. For their youth system, footballing philosophy and historic heritage I respect them more than any other team than Liverpool. There was a time when everyone feared Ajax, much like ourselves. I'd be happy to see both clubs restored to former shit-your-pants-fuckers times.
Losing your only chance of silverware this season to your city rival. At home. With the most expensive squad ever assembled.

I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before. Mid season... big striker moves from big club to another big club and gets a wonderful sending off. Credit to Ajax. Long overdue another day in the sun aren't they? Good to see he can clear the ball deep into the stands aswell.

That's awesome. Major respect and well wishes for Ajax. Was great of both Ajax and Suarez for that. The fans there obviously deserved it. Good to see that there doesn't seem to be any bitterness between Ajax and LFC.

Lovely send off from Ajax and their fans, it stands out a mile how much Suarez does still mean to them.  Nice to see him giving out the football's to the disabled folk but knowing my luck I would have been the one who got the ball in the chops when he wellied it into the crowd after the firework's went off  ;D
Most modern footballer's would rather be off swanked in their new kits and photographed for numerous picture's but Suarez did it the proper way and said "goodbye" in person to the fans who obviously still hold him very close to their hearts.
Try to sit on the fence and you're quickly exposed as a fraud, hiding your true feelings but fooling no one.

Pleased to see Ajax’s farewell to Suarez have a dedicated thread. Our club, and fans, must learn from this fantastic example.

As I have already said in another thread, Ajax, and it’s fans, have my sincere respect - they always have done! They are, after all, one of The World’s top teams and one of only five clubs to achieve the badge of honour for the European Cup – and you don’t get that easily!

We certainly look to have a gem in Suarez and I look forward to celebrating his footballing virtues over a few drinks with our Ajax comrades the near future.
