enjoyed a few of Uruguayan36's posts, informative which makes a change on here.

but at the same time he seems to underestimate Liverpool as a club and what we stand for, sometimes I get the impression he thinks we are some second rate club, which is suprising as most foreign fans acknowledge us for what we are, a giant.
Just had a go on the demo on the Xbox never really been a fan of the Fifa games most admit had my first game Barca vs Man city and as soon as the commentary said these teams are match in ability I turned it off.

I do not underestimate Liverpool as a club.

But...as a team...i do not think it is as strong as Chelsea,United or City at THIS moment.

That is what, more or less, Luis told the press today and i agree with him.

You will find his comments in english newspapers today.

But i hope next year Liverpool will be a very strong side. :)
Cheers.

Luisito was telling the truth about his brothers.

One of them seems to be as good as Luis...

The newspapers says:

Paolo Suárez, Luisito's brother, plays in El Salvador and scored two goals for Deportivo Isidro Metapán who defeated  Luis Angel Firpo 3x1 and now is leading the championship.

Maybe...

As the lone RAWK member from Bolivia, I'm assuming I'll be the only one hoping to see Uruguay get destroyed by the might of ... well, erm ... or maybe ... no, he's rubbish as well ... anyway, by the might of Bolivia.  Our team is shocking, and they're going to lose.  I still hope they'll beat Uruguay, but already accept that it's not going to happen.

Pleased to find a bolivian person in this thread.

The game between Bolivia and Uruguay still has to be played and the result will be known after 90 minutes.

We, the uruguayan, respet Bolivia a lot.

Bolivia drew against Argentina in Argentina in the Copa America.

Before that...Bolivia destroyed Argentina 6x1 in Bolivia.

Therefore Bolivia has to be a very strong team, imo.

Cheers. :)

Luisito loves to play for Uruguay because there is a lot of passion in south america when two countries face each other during the world cup qualfication.

I want to show you how passionate we are about our national teams and you will understand the southamerican fans, Luisito and i much better from now on.

To be fair, it's only Uruguayan36 who calls him 'Luisto' and he's more of a Uruguay/Suarez fan than a Liverpool one. It's not as bad as this monstrosity (and I mean than in more than one sense):

"My coach told me to warm up just before the break. He told me I was going to take care of Kaka. I didn't think it was possible to turn things around but in the dressing room at halftime Rafa Benitez was calm - "We are Liverpool FC, we have so many fans, we are not going to be slaughtered. If we can score a goal quickly we push on from there.""

Luisito means 'little Luis'. The Spanish Luis Suarez from the 50s and 60s had that nickname too.

LOL , it's normal man. It's like you guys calling players : "Carra"  or , "Stevie"  :P
In fact , I can't stand it when, say Aussies, call their teams like that: "The Maggies" (MAgpies) urgh....too cutesy.

In Uruguay, I've learned they're just like Argentina. They refer to their players only by a nickname, even formally. For ex- Luis = Lucho
.....Cristian Rodriguez (Cebolla= the onion)  "Cebolla takes the pass". I know a few more, but can't remember them.

That's what I love about Urguayans, they are the humble version of their 2 major rivals: Argentina/Brazil. Probably even more history and yet they never win easy.
For those who have never gotten into the South American football world (it's amazing believe me). They're like the all-blacks of the footballing world. For example, playing for ...say, Australia (in rugby) is big, but playing for the all-blacks transcends even the notion of "just nationalism". It's just on another level for their players (mystique/history). It means the universe to these players, the history etc.

Just ask Mr. Suarez:

Being an Uruguayan and a recent LFC fan, I joined this forum not long ago to learn about LFC and English football culture (this year I'm following the PL for the first time in my 4.5 decades of life).

I have a favour to ask:  let's post in this thread messages relevant to Luis and LFC, and please let's keep to a minimum those messages about Uruguay, Uruguayans, and/or Southamerican football that are not relevant to this thread. They create more 'noise' than 'signal', and some times the noise gets annoying (can't help to make this comment).

We won the gold medal for football in the 1924 and 1928 Olympics. Since everybody wants to have more titles than the already won, we used these olympic medals to inflate our WC count. We are self-convinced, but I don't think we can convince anyone else.
