noPretty sure there aren't any hacks for the beta.
The amount of players and size of maps is too large anyway to be really affected in cheaters. If there is really one jump inside a tank and smack him (in full game)
Hmm, not true. I was playing it last night and some wanker had a aim bot hack. Basically anything he had in his sights was dead meat, especially with a sniper rifle. He just couldn't miss and was killing people as fast as the rifle would reload. He ended up with over 80 kills per round. Drove me nuts. That wasn't the only thing. I attacked a squad sitting on the train tracks in the metro, gunned down one, ran out of ammo and switched to the pistol and unloaded with that on two of them at point blank range with no effect. I pumped two clips into two of them before they got me. It was obvious they were using some kind of hack where they took no damage whatsoever. I'm glad DICE are taking action against these twats. I really don't see the point of playing a game like this and cheating. It's just being a tosser.

Not always.
The way the hitbox's and player models work you could well be behind cover on your screen , yet on the screen of the guy shooting you you are still in the open  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lag_%28online_gaming%29

But that said, theres a fair few in our clan that swear theres sniper hackers, OSOK every time

Enjoying it a lot now I'm getting used to the controls, heavier feel, weapons and items, objectives and map. Still an annoying number of glitches though :(

Anyone up for a game or two tomorrow?
If I quit mid-game, do I get the points for ribbons and kills?
Will Caspian Border ever open up for consoles in the beta?
Will it use an online pass system?
How long will it take post-release for glitches and exploits to be ironed out?
Are the weapons different for attacking and defending?

It does a lot of things better than cod.

Cods great for things like team death match, run, gun, die, spawn, run, gun etc.

Never been keen on the objective games on cod though and Battlefield excels in this area.

I think both have their strong points. Battlefield will never overtake Cod because Battlefield is a war simulator but Cod is an arcade game.

If the PS3 could handle more players to make it larger scale like the PC version, I'd probably prefer Battlefield to be honest

I was playing on 360 but it was a bit glitchy with the squad system sometimes it said I wasn't in a squad when I actually was. It was fine in Bad Company 2 so I'm sure it will be fine in the main game.

They've stated the squad glitches as their No. 1 priority to fix for the full release.

I think war simulator is pushing it. The console versions won't handle the numbers to make that so, and the video above you post makes it look more ridiculous than almost anything CoD does, not in a bad way though.

Where I've always preferred the battlefield games is in the options it gives you and the sheer variety of situations you can find yourself in, even during one game. It's not that it's any more or less realistic than CoD, just that it's paced and structured differently.

War simulator as in they try and make it more realistic. If it was a war simulator it would take 6 hours to clear each building room by room.

It's more realistic because there are no RC cars with C4 and people don't kill each other with axes in BF :)
For true war sim play ARMA 2, it's amazing.

Funnily enough I was going to mention Arma or Op Flashpoint as your best bets for realism!

Don't write off RC cars we use stuff much more bizarre than that in reality. It's more the tactics that let CoD down, and where I'd give Battlefield the edge.

I really hope it does. Origin just seemed totally redundant for BF3 in that you basically shouldn't of even needed it to play the game. Very basic, no features on it at all, you couldn't join a friends game or view what server they were in to join it. Steam had a lot of trouble when it was first released but its perfect now

Origin is not redundant at all. It serves the same purpose as Steam does - DRM and updating games.

In which case when you hit play will probably start up origin, then battle log then you can finally start BF3.

Origins overlay looks nice in games, apart from that it's a complete pile of shite.
