Someone give him Michael Owen's number. They'll have a lot in common soon.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains.

That alternative song that someone made up for Torres, anyone got it??!

This is the Chelsea one...

He's now a blue he was a red – Torres! Torres!

He's left The Kop to join The Shed – Torres! Torres!

He used to go out on the rob,

But now he's got a proper job

Fernando Torres – Chelsea's new number nine!

They thought he'd always be a red – Torres! Torres!

You'll never walk alone he said - Torres! Torres!

They bought the lad from sunny Spain,

He scored a few then grew a brain

Fernando Torres – Chelsea's new number nine!

The song is expected to boom out when Chelsea travel to Sunderland's Stadium of Light on Tuesday evening, as well as on Sunday when Torres' former club Liverpool visit Stamford Bridge.

Actually quite funny for them...

its the team that he chose which is killing me. i live with a chelsea fan, i used sing nananananaana etc in his fucking face, now ....NOW that has changed but i still feel positive after the day, and yes YNWA
if you wanna be the best you gotta beat the best

I'll make two predictions of this...Carroll won't score 3 PL goals total for the rest of the year and we won't score 5 against any team all year.  We might still get CL football without either happening.

I know even the most ardent Liverpool fan would find it difficult to agree. But don’t you think that Torres has mugged you off even more nicely than Ronaldo did to United?

The difference in this scenario is the money the Mancs got for Ronaldo went skewiff back stateside with a swift 'where the fuck did that go'? and a pop goes the weasel sound!

The money were getting for Del Nino is already being poured into the club!!

Fenway have handled this in the best way they possibly could in our best interests and I respect and applaud them for what they have done!!

@ Miakeks

Ronaldo did a lot of good things for us. He always gave his full commitment on the pitch (partially due to his own selfishness).

Did Torres make you proud to sing his name through his stay?

I will never slate Ronaldo as footballer for what he gave to United in his time. He ushered us through our most successful period under Fergie.

What is Torres legacy after the LFC/Kop gave him all the support that a player could dream of?

There are two negatives with Torres - that he leaves mid-season and that he leaves for Chelsea of all teams. He delivered when he was here and he gave us a profit of some 30M (which we then burn like a drunken sailor, but hardly his fault).

It really is like Figo. We loved you so much, so that's why we hate you now. Although I'll find it hard to hate him, that's got to be said.

Could have been up with the likes of Hunt, Dalglish, Rush & Fowler in Liverpool folklore, but now even worse than the likes of Collymore, Saunders and Owen.  Why the fuck lie to the supporters who worshiped you the most?  You have destroyed my faith in modern day footballers and their word and I am an adult, I can't imagine how the children who idolized you feel!

Cannot disagree with much of that. I get the feeling that Torres was not particularly preoccupied with what/how or where the money from the transfer was going to. ie servicing interest or re-investment. Same with Ronaldo, though it seems the circumstance that Torres has left you in are in are far from ideal, and that is solely down to him.

Mr Alex Ferguson gave United fans the reason why most of that Ronaldo money was not re-invested was “lack of value in the transfer market”. Do you slightly agree with that? Seeing as you are on the verge of signing Andy C for £35 million.

Torres wanted to go in the summer but hung around until the club was sold so that we would be able to sell the club in the first place and secondly we would get the money to buy a replacement.

Just a thought.
Don't talk sense on this site, not now. ;)

And lets not forget that Xabi was a European Champion and a hero of Istanbul with us. Torres won nothing and amounted to nothing.

Oh, would that be the same Owen who forced us to sell him to Real for 8M? Torres gave us 50M in return after having been given promise after promise that wasn't fulfilled. We are actually having one of our worse seasons in decades.

Believe me, I don't like it one bit that Torres wanted out. This whole thing stinks, but I don't believe Torres is the only one to blame here.

He gave us more time than 90% of ambitious footballers would have done. In all honesty, the reason most are so annoyed at him is because he was always so much classier than the rest and it just hurts on a personal level. I'll remember the times I stood in cold, draughty away ends and chanted his name over a Russian billionaire turning his head after we were in crisis... It's best for everyone that way.
