Should Kenny stop tweeting? The twitter thing is such a bullshit argument. Cesc Fabregas tweets, he's Arsenal's best player. Kaka tweets, he's class. The lad is allowed to have a life outside of football. Some people think they should be training 24/7 or something. ::)
Yes but we can be glad he will soon be tweeting for someone else.

And that the players he cites have actually made careers of themselves and can afford a bit of distraction.
They were two of 100's of players I could've used. What do you want him to do, train 24/7? Have no life? I couldn't give a fuck what he does outside of 'work' hours.

undisclosed fee?

Is that to stop the price for any of our potential targets from being bumped up by an extra couple of million ?

Shouldn't this still be in the transfer forum until he signs his contract. Judging by comments made on twitter (Tony Barrett) there is quite a bit of conflicting information.

Frankly I am not that sorry. I have never shared the incredible passion that some of here have for Babel.  To my mind the guy seems way too casual about his football career. Three managers in the last 18 months have given him chances, and guess what he has not taken any of them.   All he's ever remembered for is one game against Arsenal.

Ryan, stop your twittering and rapping and concentrate on your football for once, and maybe you will get the run of games, you feel you deserve.  Hopefully the money will go towards an attacking player we need, to get us up the table.

You are a fascist and patronising woman. Ryan can rap and twitter as much as he wants, and have a great football career at the same time.

Like a lot here, I'm caught in two minds over this.

At times he frustrated the life out of me.
I never understood - and never ever got anyone willing to expand - why people thought he had "undoubted skill".
I thought he had very limited skill, his touch was poor, almost Heskey like.
He couldn't dribble, he just did the same thing of knocking it past players and then run at them.
His passing was erratic, sometimes he could whip in a great cross, sometimes it was like it was the first time he'd seen a ball.
He was fast, but seemingly too stupid to learn how to use it.

He had a great shot though, and I hope Hoffenheim give him a season up front, because I think if they do this time next year we'll all be rueing the day we let him go.
He's no left-winger though, and it always seemed the most stupid of decisions that led him to seemingly adopt that as his position.

And for those booting him on the way out, I've seen nothing but effort from him for the best part of a year from him - so you're all wankers.

I think it's decent. We paid far too much for Konchesky. £5.5m could go towards a top LW like N'Zogbia. Wish we'd sold him last year for £10m though, but in reality we paid far too much in the first place.

I don't think he's a better option than all but one or two players, certainly not half the players we have, and I can't see who else we could sell for that price that wouldn't weaken the squad.

I wouldn't argue against his sale, I don't buy into the hype surrounding him. He's had four years and well over 100 appearances to impress and bar the odd goal he quite frankly hasn't. He appears far too flippant about his career here and for me just doesn't possess the football intelligence necessary to succeed at the top level.

Best of luck to him wherever he goes, but now we can reinvest money into new players rather than handing it over to RBS, I'd like to see what Kenny and Comolli will do with it.

The FA charge was bollocks and you know it Neil.

I do think the FA charge bollocks but it was still a stupid fucking thing to do in my view - as was all the shite he got in trouble for because of Twitter last year.

If the £5.5m goes straight towards N'Zogbia i'll say thanks Ryan, best of luck at wherever you end up. If it doesn't and we end up having Jovanovic or Cole wide left the rest of the season, i'll be bemused.

Wouldn't mind him or Ashley Young.  Someone with decent pace/skill who can get round a fullback & deliver a decent cross plus chip in with a few goals.

And we turned it down.  May have been down to Rafa realising that if Ryan was let go at that point the money would have gone towards interest payments + our squad would've been one player lighter.

He has talent but not as much as people make out. Needs some more between his ears and needs to play regular football. Good luck to the lad. He seems very likable, tried to make it with us but just not good enough, got nothing against him and wish all the very best.

Best of luck to him. He was a strange signing in the first place, there was never a proper place for him in the squad, there didn't seem to be any logic to buying him other than he was young. He's not particularly quick, not intelligent (in footballing terms), doesnt have much technical ability ... yet he can have an impact at the right club. This was never the right club, I hope he does well there.

I agree, we can't make money on every Rafa purchase, although he would have been close this time last year. We got some use out of him, he failed us in the grand scheme of things. Lets recoup and save on wages.
