Because this is an online message board. You post a topic and then you have a discussion about it. It makes zero sense to lock this thread.

People have such hard-ons for locking threads.

Perhaps the Spanish speaking contingent can help.

Missing piece? We need about another 5 players on top.

I would imagine the pragmatic side of John Henry is currently looking at the situation and the malaise that the squad seems to be in and thinking very hard about making anything available.

There's no guarantee that a big player like Suarez would alter the morale of the squad but it could be £15-17m down the toilet if we can't pull out of this downward spiral. Relegation, whether we like it or not, is a real possibility if some of our players don't pull their fucking finger out.

As I watched the 1st half today I thought of Suarez or a player like him. We were putting immense pressure on but didn't have that 2nd Torres-quality player to tip the balance.  Our effort was tremendous but we need a player of this caliber to bolster the attack and crack open winnable games like this.

Suarez (or similar) + Torres + Gerrard would be a huge boost.

Actually we do need a suarez type player, someone who is creative and can play centre forward or even the wing positions. A drogba type player is useless as torres doesnt operate well with another out and out centre forward.

seems the lad has the same agent as Torres

GO GET HIM KENNY!!!
Exactly what we need, a south american devil.

He can come in off the left and attack , all he wants to do is score goals. He can provide as well as put them away.

This would also send a message out to the rest of the league who think we are finished

Suarez will be the missing piece in our jigsaw.

Just one missing piece to our jigsaw then?

If you ask me, we're missing all the corner pieces, some pieces in the middle, jamming some of the pieces we do have in to areas they don't fit, and to top it all off we've lost the fucking box with the picture on aswell.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Hopefully 4-3-3 on the left of Torres....he can also play off the front man if you wanted to play a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1. But if we want to get SG, LL and RM all on the pitch at the same time and in good areas, it would have to be 4-3-3

The question then would be who play uptop in that 4-3-3? Kuyt? In a 4-2-3-1 which is still our best formation and Suarez was behind Torres it'd be Gerrard and Lucas/Raul in the middle?

Thats the problem..in a perfect world, we could buy another player to play with Suarez and Torres in the 3. Of the players we have now, I reckon Kuyt would get the nod. If Babel could max is potential, he'd be perfect for it...but he prob wont.

And yeah, Gerrard and one of LL or RM...which wouldnt suit Gerrard at all. We are set up for a basic 4-3-3 and have for some time, IMO.

        Lucas         Meireles
Kuyt      Gerrard
                                       Suárez
              Torres

Maybe that's how it'd look like? And then buy Hazard and M'Vila in the summer.
