Dont get that team at all and dont get the subs bench either. But fuck it, we've looked forward to Kenny being back for 20 years so am chuffed whatever happens. Bit deflated after all the rumors today of the line up and the feeling that we'd be trying different things. Cant lie, I dont personall understand the selection of either Poulsen or Johnson on the left.

Just being honest mate, not going to start being a hypocrite just because Dalglish picked it and not Hodgson. To me it looks like a horrible team.

I've every confidence in Kenny to get more out of any side he picks than Hodgson ever would, but the team we were all drooling over all day is infinitely better than this one, even with a young central defender at leftback.

This side looks like an advert for how weak our squad is. And yes, I am mostly reacting to the news that Poulsen is in the side, as I hoped I never see the shithouse play for us again. Can't fucking stand seeing him.

But we'll see. Hopefully it'll be enough to get the job done. Although it will be with 10 players, as Poulsen offers absolutely fuck all.

Terrible terrible terrible negative side. No excuses for it, if Roy had choose that side this forum would be in meltdown, but Dalglish is off limits on here. No doubt if we lose the players get the blame, yet if Roy was manager and we lost Roy gets blame for shite team selections.

It's not the team I was expecting, and I raised an eyebrow when I saw Poulsen, but it isn't THAT bad. If Maxi was in for Poulsen I think people would be pretty happy. Hopefully Lucas and Raul will be able to play further up the pitch and create chances. Kuyt will work hard, and playing a DM should give Glen and Kelly licence to roam. Good chance for Jova to prove a point.

if it was roy, raul would be out left and we would sit deep and look to play diagnol balls to kuyt and torres on the counter..

however, kenny will have paulson sitting deep with lucas and raul pressing and getting forward...jova also is a good player and works very hard...

i can see us playing a very high tempo pressing game with this lineup, with lucas and raul getting forward at all opportunities.

I think with Meireles & Lucas in the midfield, Poulson is their just to defend the back four, I'm sure he won't do any runs upfront, he may not even pass the midfield line, so when we have the ball, Kelly & Johnson go to their forward runs, Poulson returns with Agger & Skrtel in the back.

A little bit like how Busquets operate at Barca is that he drops deeper to be in line with Pique & Puyol with Alves & Abidal pushing up.

Or so me hopes.
