They've travelled around the World for years mainly watching England lose.

This series though I think they've had a massive affect on the series.

It’s more to do with better coaches and better management. Also I think it’s a lot to do with confidence and belief both of which England have in abundance at the moment.

I'd agree with that, but it must be good to have that level of support when you're playing on tour. Some of the matches were like home games there were that many England supporters there.

No. A big bunch of middle class Lah-De-Dah Gunner Graham's........Though they did sound good yesterday to be fair.

I still have a stereotypical view of cricket and it's fans you see, but I'm learning, I'm learning, give it time...

Did they make Australia shite?

They got to Mitchell Johnson who was potentially their most dangerous bowler.

England only benefitted from having a massive fan base with them throughout, but you can't not look past one of the poorest Australian teams they've been playing against throughout the series. Would agree with earlier posters that the coaches have improved both batting and bowling skills.

No one working class can afford to take 6 weeks holiday to go get pissed in Australia.

I don't think anyone of any class can afford to get pissed in Australis these days at about £4-£6 a pint!

Thing is, a lot of people fly out for one Test (or Melbourne and Sydney combined). Plus a huge number of the English fans there would have been expats or backpackers living out there so you would still get a diverse mix.

If anyone did make it for the entire tour then I'm pretty damn jealous of their lifestyle!

I'm middle class. But I'm hard. Al dente if you will.

You should spend more time in the water, said Mrs Dente to her son Al.

Have they made England better? Yes. In that, when you take the field miles from home, and see a swathe of fans who have spent good money travelling there to see you play and made a heap of sacrifices in the process, and who have proved their support through thick and a whole heap of thin, you better try your bollocks off, and in recent years, most of them have. Coaching, preparation etc is of course more important, but from Chittagong to Chennai, Ahmedabad to Adelaide, the Barmy Army have kept them honest. And as this series has proved, they've made watching England, in the ground and on TV, more entertaining.

i know nothing about cricket and less about the barmy army, but today on SSN they either picked out the most annoying people in the crowd to interview or they are all idiots.(which i am sure they are not) One guy leans in to give his opinion, gets stage fright,  pauses and says , they were great...I just thought if  owned a bar I'd lock it up rather than listen to those guys all night. Like any large group I am sure the majority are fine it might help if they dropped the barmy bit.
