I fully expect Konch back for this one. If that's down to Aurelio being managed on the fitness front then I could handle that. Really don't know about this one. On paper they are there for the taking but we all know what the average Liverpool away performance involves this season.

Come on Redmen, give us a new year boost and some much needed optimism before the Cup game.

could be an exciting one this, return of their prodigal legend manager.......no wait.

although they have been taken over by an 'Egg Magnet' (do they sell them in Habitat), and their linked with Ronaldinho, although cant see them shelling out for him.

My team would be:

_______________Reina_______________

Johnson___Skrtel_____Agger______Aurelio

__________Lucas____Meireles__________

Kuyt__________Gerrard____________Maxi

______________Torres_________________

But that certainly won't be Hodgson's side.

I have now changed my mind. They will win 2-0.

Dodgy penno and then a late goal.

We'll have someone good sent off.

I think the Hodge will foolishly target the United game at the expense of Blackburn and maybe Blackpool when he could do more good winning the next game, building confidence and seeing what we've got fit for Sunday. A win tomorrow and a draw Sunday may well keep him afloat.

If Roy does indeed make changes and rests the likes of Gerrard and Torres and we get beat, you just know the media won't blame Roy, it'll be the shit squad Rafa left him.

I think it depends on the sending off - 2 yellows comes into effect 7 days later, straight red immediately (or something like that..)

What always surprises me is how much better every other side seems to come through 3 games in a week. Are our players less fit, more susceptible or do we just make excuses for the mentally weak. There was a time we'd just get the job done, out on our feet or not - too many excuses now.

Agree with that. I think any future signings shouldn't be injury prone and they should show themselves to be physically and mentally strong.

Tickets still available in the away end for this game and will be on general sale tomorrow night - when was the last time Liverpool failed to sell their away allocation against another North West club?

Must be the credit crunch, can't think what else would cause it?

It's a lot of tickets aswell. I heard today that we'd sold under 3,000 so far.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Die Hard away fans are as sick of Roy as we are. Any normal season, I'd have gone to this.

I think Blackburn away last season though was the worst game I've ever seen in my life. Big kick off with a load of knobheads behind me - they were having a go at Rafa.. And it pissed down, was cold and shite. I got lost walking back to the train station, missed a train, got stuck on a pissing down platform for 2 hours and took 4 1/2 hours to get home - pissed off, wet and miserable.

Sounds similar to my day apart from the train, ended up kicking off with a few knobheads next to me from god knows where moaning constantly about Rafa and why Aquilani wasn't playing, hope they're fucking happy now the tw@'s.

I would play Gerrard and Torres for an hour and take them off no matter what's happening in the match, we should be positive and go for it from the 1st whistle.

'Hodgson later complained that his failure at Blackburn tarnished his reputation in England, whilst his record on the continent should have made him comparable to Mr. Ferguson: "Of course, my track record, if people bothered to study it, would put me in the same category as Mr. Ferguson enjoys today, but people don't talk about what I've done outside England."'

How ironic it would be if a bad result against a team he led to the bottom of the table costs him his job.

I expect the Blackburn fans are going to love seeing Roy return.  No doubt his reception will be blamed on the Liverpool fans though.
