Blackburn Rovers v Liverpool, Prematch thread.

Winnable???

I'm going. 7,000 away end, love this fixture, shame we never tend to do the business, though the 1-3 win in 08-09 was a pretty enjoyable one.

Actually Blackburn have been dross since Fatsam left ( much irony there) so we could scrape a draw! With a new manager by then or at least not the one we have might win it!

Roy's Liverpool win at Old Trafford...what then?

This game is so fickle that if we were to have a good week the whole mood within the media and the narrative of Hodgson's time in charge will turn positive. His position would become a lot stronger.

I think Roy will pull Wolves like tactics, we could well lose, and then tiodays winning team will return for Old Trafford.

So at Blackburn xpect PFK, Soto, no Maxi, Meireles may be injured.  I don't think Lucas (or anyone) can continually cover the whole midfield if Gerrard plays CM, but attacks so much he is exposed if the other team attack.  Lucas looked exhausted about 10 mins form the end today.

What i'd like to see is:
Pepe
Johnson Soto* Skrtel PFK*
Kuyt Lucas Meireles Maxi
Gerrard/Ngog*
Torres
*depends how tired Gerrard is

*I'm keeping Agger and Aurelio for the Mancs as I don't think they can do 3 games in 8 days.
Quote from: Fordy
If Lucas wasnt from Brazil he would also be championship fodder.
Henderson won't make it here. Sorry but he won't and won't be a regular.

I prefer the one further back - about 500 yards opposite the car park. You can get served and it's a nice chilled out atmosphere. Most of the Blackburn bods in there support Liverpool

Gerrard not good enough for you then?

I would go for Gerrard but Hodgson mentioned that he isn´t quite on 100% yet, so I thought after today´s game he might be too tired.

If he should be ready then I would wish for...

Johnson           Skrtel         Agger            Aurelio
                   Lucas          Meireles
Kuyt                                                     Maxi
                    Gerrard       Torres

Considering that we will play the Mancs three days later I would even go so far and replace Maxi with Babel and Torres with Ngog. You could also play Babel alongside with Ngog and save Gerrard and Torres for the Mancs.

This game is so fickle that if we were to have a good week the whole mood within the media and the narrative of Hodgson's time in charge will turn positive. His position would become a lot stronger.

The die has been cast and the current attendance figures will have confirmed that Hodgson and his style of football are not what we want as supporters.

What I would like to happen:
From the very start even coming out of the tunnel we have a look of determination about us. Roy is sitting in the dugout looking confident, smiling and chatting with Sammy. The whistle blows and we kick off! its a passing game with laser acurate ball placement and perfect timing. Liverpools early prodding and probing of Blackburns defence pays off immediately as Gerrard and Torres bounce the ball off each other with Torrese finding the back of Blackburns net after only 6 minutes!

Blackburn 0 - 1 Liverpool

Game on. Blackburn are rocked by the early goal and look shakey, although their defense tightens up but Liverpool continue to keep posession holding the ball in midfield and teasing Blackburn to come forward.

Liverpools midfield share possesion of the ball as gaps start to appear in Blackburns defense. Liverpool see the opportunity and the double act are back on the case swapping the ball with each other. Torres takes a shot but hits the crossbar the ball falls at the feet of Stevie G who makes no mistake and is bang on target! keeper in utter confusion had no chance!
25 mins gone.

Blackburn 0 - 2 Liverpool

Blackburn on the attack this time Paul Gallagher making a convincing run but a superb tackle by Martin Skrtel puts the ball clear.

Half Time

Team Talk:
Hodgson- 'keep it up lads and dont sit back more of the same please from everyone'
Carragher sitting in on the team talk while injured - 'me heads chocker boss'!

Game on. Blackburn on the attack again but fizzles out into nothing. The game is being played in mid field with Blackburn having serious difficulty getting anywhere near Liverpools goal.
Blackburn in possesion make a serious mistake giving the ball away to Steven Gerrard who starts a run. He passes the ball to Dirk Kuyt who flicks it back to him in the box, Gerrard takes the ball around Blackburns defense who bring him down... PENALTY!

Gerrard lines up and cannons the ball to the far left of the keeper who may have got the tips of his fingers to it but not enough!

Blackburn 0 - 3 Liverpool

85 minutes gone and Hodgson thinks Ngog should have a few minutes on the field. He brings off Fernando Torres to roaring applause from the fans.

90 minutes gone and 2 minutes added time as Gerrard, Ngog, Lucas and Dirk Kuyt are all in Blackburns goal area, Blackburn are a mess and the ball is sent straming accross the front of their goal hitting David Ngogs head and finding the back of the net!

Blackburn 0 - 4 Liverpool

The last few seconds are a formailty as the Referee blows the whistle.

Full Time

Blackburn 0 - 4 Liverpool

Goals:
Torres - 6 mins
Gerrard - 25 mins
Gerrard - 64 mins (P)
Ngog - 91 mins

Post match comments from Hodgson - 'we trained hard for this and it shows in our game. made our own chances and didnt let any opportunities pass by. Im very pleased with the lads. we stay focused now and continue going forward'

What will probably happen:
Hodgson sitting in the dugout picking his nose. See's himself on tv and wipes his finger on Sammy lee's empty seat before he sits on it.

Kick off. With all the skill's of an under five's crab football squad Liverpool try desparately to keep possesion but then the referee blows his whistle to start the game!
Liverpool lose the ball straight away after hoofing it to Torres who was busy sending a text message. Liverpools defense is in utter confusion as to what position they should be playing. Hence...

Blackburn 1 - 0 Liverpool

Roy rubs his face.

More of the same.

Half Time:
Team Talk:
Hodgson- 'Hoof the ball - 'run like c*nts'!

Game on.

More of the same.

More of the same.

Goal!
Blackburn 2 - 0 Liverpool

Liverpool give a quality display of ball hoofing!

Roy rubs his face.

Goal!
Blackburn 3 - 0 Liverpool
Roy rubs his face.

More of the same.

90 mins gone 2 mins added time

Liverpool start to show some urgency at last as Roy takes off Pepe Reina who is having a hard time playing on his own.
Free kick to Liverpool.
Glen Johnson hoofs the ball in the wrong direction hitting Roy Hodgson smack in the face knocking him spark out! nobody notices.

Throw in for Blackburn near the Liverpool goal area. Blackburn storm forward all hands on deck for the last few seconds while Liverpool take a breather.

Goal!
Blackburn 4 - 0 Liverpool

Full time.

Blackburn 4 - 0 Liverpool

Goals:
Gallagher - 18 secs
Someone else - 49 mins
Another Blackburn player - 70 mins
Betty from the canteen for Blackburn - 91 mins

Post match comments from Hodgson - 'where the fuck am I'?
I wish united would hurry up and win more European cups than us. Perhaps then the F.A will stop all their shit decisions against us to keep us out of the top four!!

It will be interesting to see how we approach this game....I think we should...no.  We could ...no that wouldn’t work either...Hmm I’m having a bit of trouble..

Let me just
Oh now I see! Carra In goal, Pepe at right back, A defensive midfielder on the right, Torres up front as one of those special referee/linesman things they sometimes use, and Soto as a centre forward.  Should I put Gerrard as a centre half?  It’s a bit audacious but what the heck!.  So first pass the ball to Carra who hoofs it to Pepe who throws it in to Fabio who’s on the bench and does a hand pass to Konchesky, who shoots for 6 points, all while Soto stops the opposition goalkeeper from dribbling the ball out from the back

No wait..that didn’t work at all.   :butt

I really hate Blackburn fan's I don't know why but I just think there one of the worst in the league.
"The club was great, the people were great and the people from Liverpool - the text messages, the phone calls, the emails, all the tweets I had on my Twitter account - it's unbelievable how much respect they showed me and it's also a bit emotional" - Dirk Kuyt
