FAO Formule 1 + Etap Hotel Bookers (re: Marseille)
« on: March 4, 2004, 10:45:05 PM »
I have been told that the St menet one is closest to the ground. Mate rang the airport one and the guy gave that advice. So I have booked a room at that location (still got the Valentine one). Best to look at exactly where they are these hotels. Booked the Valentine one straight off as I dont like sleeping ruff if I can help it.

Just had a look on Multimap, both on the edge of town, hard to judge which is the closest.

Swapped my booking to the Etap Timone because its in the City by the rail station and there is a Metro nearby that goes staight to the ground. €46 per triple room. Cuts out any aggro of a taxi back to the Formule 1 after the match which may be pricey.

Three sharing will work out at about £10 each.

There is another Etap at the Old Port but there was no 'online' booking that I could see.

I have been searching all day and that one is the closest to stadium/train station and cheap, so that'll do me £30 for 3 nights is a bargain!!

There's parking at the one by the stadium but you have to pay.

But then the hotel's only 300m walk to the stadium  8)

Sorry but Jason enlightened me about the Etap by the ground. Have been working and have had to book stuff in a rush- hence not getting the very most convenient hotel at my first attempt. In fact it took me four goes.

Click thru for Etap Prado. 300 metres from ground.

Booking is a simple operation, cancelling is another matter.
There should be vacancies all over Marseille soon, cos I'm gonna start cancelling all bookings previously made.

anyone got a direct link to cancellations ?  ;D

For the Accor Hotels you can't shortcut to cancellations. So use this one and then hold the cursor over "Search a hotel" then select "View/cancel reservation". Had to use it myself 3/4 times this last few days:

so have I. How does that work? If someone wants those rooms will they need to turn up and quote your credit card- because the booking form on the net did not ask for a name.
