Dzeko at 25 million is a once and a lifetime deal, lets make it our priority. Imagine, Dzeko and Torres up front together.

So for all the moaning that goes on about Roy, and Poulson, and Konchescky, just remember, under the parasites, we wouldn't even be discussing this.
It's all just paper talk at the moment.

If the £25- £30 million being quoted is the price for Dzeko I'd much rather we had a stab at getting Carroll. For that money I think we'd get him too. He looks like he's going to be some player.

From trusted sources though. That to me gives it more credibility than if it was in the Daily Star or on Goal.com.

Our interest in Dzeko is very much real, Rory Smith confirmed as much. It all boils down to who you trust and who you don't.

Signing Dzeko would be incredible. Rory Smith confirmed the interest was real on Twitter, but we aren't that confident.

I'd rather we didnt sell agger to be honest i think him/Skrtel would be a great cb partnership for the next 4/5 years for us.
Dzeko i dont know much about but from things ive read tonight he looks good and id be happy if we got him or andy carroll.

Ha yeah i do honestly like the thought if us getting either of them (or both!!) but not at the expense of a really great defensive talent like agger just my view but with skrts agg carra and soto we look very strong in the cb department rb looks ok with kelly/johnson.. lb we need another to cover aurelio (or for aurelio to cover)

Losing babel wouldnt be THAT much of a blow to the team especially if dzeko lives up to his billing.

That would be an incredible piece of business.
Firstly, we'd be getting almost all our money back on a player who has been a total flop.
Secondly, we'd be picking up a top player for his basic market value amidst competition from clubs with more money and more chance of CL football next season.

I think the idea of Wolfsburg doing a cash plus player deal for their prize asset is a fanciful one, if we are to lure him to Anfield, it will need to be straight up cash, of course this is just my opinion, but i can't see otherwise.

The other thing i wondered, Dzeko is a player who scores alot of goals with his head, so will Comolli be in the market for a top drawer winger? someone to supply the bullets for the Bosnian, this assuming we get Dzeko of course.

I think we should give Danny some time to see if he can stays injuiry free after fully recovering from injuiry this time, if he is injuired again then we can sell him for PROFIT, Madrid, Inter, Milan & Bayern all want him and I think that if we were to sell him we should start a bidding war on him.

That would be an incredible piece of business.

Yeah if Wolfsburg really want 25 million in Dzeko then I think Babel+15 million which can be increased to 20 million will be a good piece of buissness like what hitman89762000 wrote, losing Babel won't be much of a blow to the team because we can cope with that if the replacement is someone of the quality of Dzeko.

Ok, I'll sort my attitude out and that'll make a difference to how much money NESV have to spend in January.

I'm sorry, this has probably been mentioned a billion times before, but I really don't see Dzeko coming here under the current management.

The pre-game tactic talk to him would be utterly useless.

None of us actually know how much money FSG are actually planning to invest in the january transfer market which is just as it should be really , for all we know theres £15m or £150m im sure it'll be a reasonable sum with 2 or 3 signings coming in but the serious investment wont start until the summer.

From looking at their record with the Red Sox, signning Dzeko is not that improbable. He is a big star that lots of teams want, but FSG is known to be unafraid of the big price tag if the player is inline with their philosophy (young, proven talent with great potential). Dzeko and a decent winger would be expensive but just what we need.

Interesting thought. He offers defensive responsibility and some variation in offensive play. In general it seems ill-advised to get rid of top class English players given the home-grown rules being implemented.

I must have missed that as well. I have seen no clear indication of what we have to spend. That is surely one of our great bargaining points as clubs dont really know whether we have money or not.

I would love it to be the case but its the Babel and Agger story as reported in the Sunday Telegraph:
WOLFSBURG: Liverpool soll hinter Wolfsburgs Top-Star Edin Dzeko (24/Vertrag bis 2013) her sein. Der Bosnier soll gegen Holland-Stürmer Ryan Babel (24) und Dänen-Verteidiger Daniel Agger (26) getauscht werden, berichtet die Zeitung „Daily Telegraph“.

What about if you had to pay his wages, is one full season in four enough?

It all depends on what our new medical team is saying, if they're confident they can improve on that record than it's well worth the punt. If not, and we're told we can expect a similar return then we need to start looking elsewhere. But if Agger goes, we're looking very light in the center of defense in the short term.

Dzeko has been saying in the weeks before xmas that the only reason he'd leave wolfsburg is to play CL every year, which kind of counts us out at the moment.

Nzogbia could be bought for an absolute steal..he is desperate to show what he can do at the highest level and while we may be going through a rough patch, we're still one of the biggest spotlights there is for an ambitious player.

Despite the fact that I don't think he'd be happy there. Johnson at the moment is the only right back around for england, and he knows it. I don't think he'd throw away his england place because some of our fans are desperate to displace Kuyt from the team, do you?

Fact of the matter is that he's actually been pretty good ever since the little spat in the press with Roy and is our starting right back.

Class last season, easily better than Carragher.

Hardly say Bayern's performances this season have justified leaving him out of the team either.

Demichelis is a second rate defender.  He makes too many school boy mistakes to be an improvement on what we already have; let him go to Turkey and finish his career there.
