God's hat trick
« on: November 14, 2010, 10:36:09 PM »
Not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but Robbie Fowler scored a hat trick for Perth Glory in a 3-1 home win against my Melbourne Victory yesterday in The A-League.  Perth had lost 9 and drawn 1 of their last ten games (after going undefeated in the first five games of the season), so you can imagine how happy they are to have god on their side.

After scoring a few early in the season, Robbie has been unfit, injured, and had gone AWOL for a bit, although Perth Glory claimed they knew he had gone back "home" for a bit.

But he was certainly "up for it" yesterday.  He had a decent chance in the first five minutes that he took early with a bit of a toe poke that was well saved by the Victory 'keeper.  He then won a slightly dubious penalty and stepped up to take it himself.  His penalty was not one to remember, but the 'keeper knocked it straight into Robbie's path and he bundled it back in with his right foot.

There was no header to make it a "perfect hat trick", but there was a beautiful finish to round it all out.

We need an understudy for Torres. Knows the league, counts as home grown, over 30. I expect Roy to be making the call as we speak

If Harry can get Spurs to the CL 1/4 final then he could get England to the World Cup final.

He never lost it. Nice one God.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

Had a blinder. Perth have been shithouse this year, but he's finally come good it seems (it's amazing what some service can do!).

Brisbane Roar top of the league! Get in!

Because Roy has a flavour for playing the players the fans want to see?

Anyone else click on the video with the Russian (just a guess) chick explaining where the term "hat trick" comes from?  Worth a watch, very educational

Amazing how many Melbourne Victory fans will show up to a game against Adelaide (playing in an all red kit) wearing a Liverpool, manc or Arsenal shirt.  Same against Melbourne Heart now too.  I'm just waiting for the Victory fan wearing a Sunderland/Southampton shirt at the next Melbourne "derby".
