I'm a big fan of them both. Similar style and in their early 20's.

I've seen more of Johnson's development & always thought he would become a top class player. Been impressed with his start at Manchester City at too. I think he has a bit more to his game than Bale & has more in terms of creativity. Bale is obviously more of a typical winger & a very good LB. He's been playing in the Premiership a bit longer and certainly shown more than Johnson to date.

Sooooooo........who would you rather have? Who will be the better player when they're at their peak?

We won't be signing any of them.

Both are very good prospects but I would prefer to have Adam Johnson, simply because he is naturally a left winger, as apposed to Bale who has just become a left winger.

Bale is ahead of Johnson at the moment, plus Bale is 2 years younger.

Johnson, any day of the week.

I don't think Bale has the awareness and game intelligence of Johnson.

If I were to compare Bale to anyone, I would say he is like a faster better Riise.

Adam Johnson has more to his game in my opinion.

Bale, as good as he is relies heavily on speed.

Both have a sweet left foot, but Johnson for me.

Johnson.

I think a lot of Bale's directness is reliant on his pace. When he comes up against good RB's that can match him for pace, I don't think he's as effective. Johnson has good pace but he's also shown a lot of game intelligence, with the runs he makes and decision making. He also has a trick or two up his sleeve so in my opinion he's harder to play against.

I must say I've watched Johnson a lot more than Bale though so I might be doing that lad a bit of a disservice.

Yeah he plays there now but he is easily adaptable, seeing as he started playing on the left wing. I don't think it would be a an issue if he was asked to play on the left again.

wouldn't be a problem but have to say some of his best football has come from the right wing cutting in on his strong foot

From what I've seen of him, he's pretty effective playing on the right, and cutting inside.
I think he's got a big future. Excellent player.

the y have different attributes. as said, bale relies a lot on directness and strength where as johnson has a lot more trickery in his armery.

johnson is the english robben for me potentially. not at that level yet but as a left footer on the right he can certainly be england's answer. the problem is he doesn't play every week. after silva's brilliant cameo last week i can see johnson being on the bench tomorrow against arsenal as he won't drop milner.

I'm a big fan of both but i'll have to chose Adam Johnson as he his youger, slightly quicker and also qualifies as a home-grown player... But I would love to have them both...

We can only hope. It's just ridiculous considering the players that we used to discuss as possible transfer targets.

2 years younger and more direct than Johnson - I just love players that have the confidence to charge at the fullback again and again. I do like Johnson too though

Could you see Johnson scoring a hattrick at the San Siro? It depends what type of winger you're after really. If you're after a tricky winger who is noted for his ingenuity then you go for Johnson but if you're after someone who's a bit more destructive you go for Bale. I only voted for Bale because he's been more impressive lately and I'm easily swayed on things like these.

Sorry, but I try to judge players without being biased.

Nani is absolutely boss at the moment...his stats this season are crazy, for club and country.

It's a shame, because Nani is becoming the player we all wish Babel could be.

What a turn around for him, cracking player atm: Scores, Assists, spreads the ball well, links up well with team mates, etc etc

but Malouda doesn't really play as a winger does he.

Chelsea play such a fluid formation that you can't say who their winger is. most of their width comes through Cole.

Malouda, Anelka and Drogba interchange so often.

and as for Nani, he's been pretty damn consistent lately. since the turn of the year.

Had it not been for him, United would be in the bottom half of the table now.

Bale because I think he has a more consistent end product and he appears to be a superior athlete. Would be happy with either though for our team.

Gareth Bale - easy. Most consistent and not just from THAT game midweek, but to do what he did was phenomenal.

Love watching him play, and proud he's Welsh too - we could do with a few more like him!
