NESV at Anfield Blackburn game
« on: October 22, 2010, 04:48:42 PM »
All.

Lets take the roof off and give John and gang a rapturous welcome. Lets really give them a welcome not to be forgotten. Never know it may get as far as the pitch and give the players a lift.

And why not maybe sing Hodgsons name (contentious I know - But we are not Newcastle supporters)

Lets turn a new leaf and see if it can become contagious

To be very honest I still don't believe he is the Manager, but I think it's odd that to my knowledge he has not had his name sung out. Just trying to inject a bit of positivity.

It's a tough one, maybe even hypocritical.

But it looks like he is here til xmas minimum, maybe make the best of it ?

Trust me, this is hard to type.

Only way people will sing his name on Sunday is to politely ask him to do one. And I'll be honest if it starts I'm gonna be joining in because I've had more than enough of him. He thinks we're idiots, he has no respect for us as fans and thinks we're an annoyance. He has got to go and that is without even considering the shit we've had to put up with on the pitch. I've threw hundreds of quid away so far this season for him to set us up at home as though we're Fulhamand it's simply not good enough. I won't be singing his name in a good way and I hope nobody else does. NESV need to know that his time is up!

I hope there is a great atmosphere at Anfield for this.  It's the first home game for the new owners and after all that went on over the purchase, a noisy welcome would go down well I am sure.

As for the 'Hodgson' chant, I can't see that taking off.  There are too many questionmarks over his ablity and acheivments at the moment I would have thought.

I'll applaud when I see what they've done in 5 years time. I was sceptical of the yanks turned up and didn't want to sell and I'll be restraining myself until I see what the cut of this new fella's jib is.

He'll have to go a long way for us to trust anyone new again so blithely.

Eh?

Why?

Maybe the Hodgson chant was a step too far, I am ambivalent about the manager myself.

How about a chorus of

Ya,I understand you're trying to be possitive which is good and I agree with the rest of your post,Henry & Co do deserve a warm welcome, first game at Anfield when were free from the cancers means there should be a better atmosphere but singing Hodgsons name is a complete and utter NO.
1,he doesnt even come close to fucking deserving that,

2.Roy seems to believe himself to be one of the best around and quite frankly seems a bit fucking obsessed with himself,if he heard us singing his name it would lead him to believe that were behind him and he would know doubt start saying that in his interviews(On the plus side 40,000 of us might get a werthers original each)

3.The media would pick up on that and start printing that were behind him.

new owner who doesn't know how unpopular and useless about the manager is coming to Anfield and they said that they are here to win and they will listen and learn, so why not use this opportunity to let him know our dislike of the manager?

he think we would turn against him if he sacks Roy as soon as he took over the club, so we have to let him know that is not the case and we would like a new manager who can deliver result.
It is not impossible, its just improbable

It took over a year for us to sing Luis Garcia's name and he helped us to the European Cup.  No disrespect mate but we shouldn't be singing songs for anyone other than people who deserve it.  Roy doesn't deserve his name chanted and I can't remember us singing any of our previous owners names except when getting those two fuckers out of our club.

But I agree with you about giving the new owners a good welcome.

Understood, but by that token no new player would get his name sung on his first appearance, which does happen.

And to be fair, NESV playing hardball and getting into bed with Broughton resulted in toot and ploot leaving town with their cocks in  slings, which to be fair, not a bad result.

Wish I had not said sing Hodgson though, just trying to share a little love on a Friday before the ale house.

There's a massive difference between chanting his name and not chanting Hodgson out. If we call for his head at the match it arguably makes us look like every other small time club whereas if we undeservedly chant his name then it makes us look like fools for supporting a poor manager.

We should make tomorrow like a typical European atmosphere on the Kop. Lots noise and everyone standing up!
Ya we have been talking in the half time, we need to do something, we need to change things and maybe if we score then it will be different and we scored and it was different.  - Rafael Benitez Ataturk Stadium Istanbul 26 May 2005

I would think Roy is very nervous that the owners will be there along with thousands of fans likely to be singing Kennys name if it doesn't go as planned on the field. I think the fans should just be honest about how they feel, if they want Roy out then owners there or not, let it be heard.

Warm welcome, yes, but the thought of singing the name of any owner makes me cringe. They're business people, end of. If they do a decent job they will be rewarded by the fact that we ignore them and let them get on with it.
