Gelsenkirchen and Munich
« on: November 9, 2011, 10:49:31 PM »
Not sure if this should be here - but really missing this forum . . .

Anyway, me and a couple of mates  have decided that a whole season without Europe is too much.

We are doing a long weekend in Germany to take in Schalke v Bucharest in Europa and Munich v Bremen in Bundesliga.

We chose this as we hadn't been either to Veltins or Allianz. Anyone got any tips?

I know I am in a minority but really hope we manage to get to (at least) Europa League. I am really not convinced that not playing In Europe is a big help.

Me too. Went to the Rangers match as a quick fix and even took the Mrs to Riga in Latvia just to get away in Europe!

Don't spend much time in Gelsenkirchen, not a lot happening there. Base yourself in Dusseldorf or Cologne. Done Munich too cracking place. Everywhere you go in Germany Liverpool is respected more than any other English club.

Schalke Supporters bar on the tramline to the Stadium.

Try and get tickets in the Nordkurve.

Dusseldorf is a cracking place, head to the Altstadt, can't go wrong. The Brauhauses do superb scran, the local ale is dark Frankenheim Alt, a nice tipple.
