Ahh yes.

You are the reason why Rafa left, and you're the reason we're in trouble now.

The bloke wasn't the messiah, but who can be expected to win the title under current circumstances?

The club was a shambles at boardroom level before they sacked Rafa.
Sacking him made the club an even bigger shambles. A shambles that could cost us BIG TIME for fucking years to come.
So what are we left with now?
A journeyman manager who looks like a frightened rabbit in front of headlights.

Watched MoTD 2 earlier, and I think Lee Dixon has been the first person I've heard to actually have the balls to publicly disagree with Roy's weirdness (for lack of a better word to use) in his post match interviews, and the general concensous of his press lapdogs. Thank you, Lee. But to be honest, he'd look like a right mad bastard if he agreed, wouldn't he? I wonder why Alan Hansen wasn't available? Lawro! Oh, Lawro, where art thou?

Hadn't seen that post of yours before El C, have to agree with practically all of it, I know a lot of people seemed reasonably happy with our transfer business over the summer, personally I was pretty horrified by most of it, when you are in the financial position we were (and to some extent still are) in then you need to be sensible in your transfer dealing and have some kind of coherent long term strategy around it.

As you say we seem to be currently looking at spunking money on aging players as the way forward which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to a team in our position (not in imminent danger of winning one of the big trophies with the finances currently available).

For me it just makes it imperative that Hodgson is gone before the next transfer window and getting Purslow removed from footballing matters wouldn't be a bad idea either.

The change in ownership was just the first step in what needs to be a pretty fundamental restructuring of the club which will need to be at least started pretty quickly.

Before I hit bed, think about this...

We swapped Aquilani, Insua and Rafael Benitez for Poulsen, Konchesky and Roy Hodgson.

... And £18million

Goodnight gents.

Sarge - here's a dose of fuckin reality for you - we're miles away from the title. The closest we've come in recent years was with a manager you and many others couldn't wait to get shot of. You then wanted shot of his replacement, so forgive me when I piss myself laughing at you suggesting names for any subsequent manager.

No hard feelings though, you're a decent fella from what I can gather. Maybe you should apply for the upcoming MD/CEO role as you're no worse qualified at judging managers than the current incumbent.

Look i know we are miles off any tites but what we have now is not the answer and that is a very stark reality Gareth. Now i have no crystal ball and i for one will support the club through the good and the bad but i hope like everyone else in here whoever comes in will bring us to the promised land. Rafa is gone some people need to get over that and look to the future which i hope will be a good one but right now we are in a bad place and we all know that mate, so onwards and upwards. Gareth i hope we get their sooner rather than later but as we all agree Roy is not the man and that is not a general statement its proven here tonight.

And yes i am a decent bloke :D

I think that following the recent success of our internet terrorism, that this momentum be used to finish the job we started, which was to save the club.
Sadly, it would mean undermining and slagging off a man whose biggest fault will probably be his stubborness to give up so early.  But it's collateral damage time I think.
No, it's not The Liverpool Way, but then again our 'Way' hasn't exactly yielded success for 20 years, so perhaps it's time we stopped leaning on tradition and start recognising that shit has changed.

Sack him John, go on, fucking help us out here.

You know, John Henry isn't going to get the message with us crying upon eachothers shoulder about how badly we want this stranger out of our club.

Now i don't have a twitter account, but for anyone who does, a sensible write-up to his account about how we need to get rid of him as soon as possible, will do a lot of good.

Quite clearly at the moment Purslow and Broughton are going to hang right till the end to see Roy succeed. Their egos are on the line here. They sacked Rafa and appointed this man. It's going to take a while for them to grab their balls and fuck him off.

I honestly don't recognise us as a club anymore with this guy in charge.

Genuine question Sarge, do you not even now look back and think "looks like I was wrong about that one" when comparing Rafa and Hodgson?
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

There is a very good chance Rafa will be back. He practically said that he would jump at the chance to come back and our best success in the last 20 years came under him. Given the likely positive fan reaction, NESV may go for it.

The only managers that can touch Rafa are Ferguson, Wenger, Guardiola, Ancellotti and Mourinho. Mourinho is the only likely target there and I would take Rafa over him any day.
Let us never forget Rafael Benitez and what he did for us. A fighter full of guts and passion. A gentleman full of class and dignity. A football manager full of intelligence and pure genius. A Legend.
Adios Rafa, buena suerte.

If he has dignity, he should resign after the match.

But he has no dignity! How can he have it when he's just a robot, with no heart and brains, programmed to run the same software installed in him for the last 35 years?

Oh crap, I just insulted all computers and robots. Even these things have a processor...

That question is redundant to him mate.
When him and all the others were giving it the "times up for Rafa". Most of the realist posters on here then told him or them the reality of what would happen to the club.
The reality that is happening now. But did they agree at the time?

Did they fuck!!!

Oh Rafa was better than Roy no doubt but i honestly hand on heart feel Rafas time was up here. Now that is my opinion if differs to others but saying i am the reason Rafa is gone and we now have Roy is a bit mad to be honest. Look as i stated above i want what is best for LFC we all do but lets start looking forward again and hopefully things will improve for us mate.

The most annoying thing about this is how we've been dominated against pony teams like Blackpool. It's not as if we're killing them, and them winning is due to one good counter attack, or a moment of genius, or howler. We're literally just getting ass-raped and it's all down to Roy's tactics. It's so frustrating, I can literally not remember us playing this bad in my life. Today was personally a big day in my judgement of Roy because up till now, like many fans, i've gave him and the players the benefit of the doubt because of the shit off the field, and I was praying that the new ownership would give them a big morale boost, but it was the same rubbish - second best to everything, sideways and backwards passing, lack of attacking intent, nobody that would run at the defence until Babel and Jova came on which is fair to say our best 20 mins of the season so far in my opinion, lack of support for Torres, I could go on all night. One thing I think we've never lacked is passion and determination, and even today we did show it, but that just makes it all the more frustrating really. It's like they're shackled up with Roy's management, really does kill me. Never before has a home game against Blackburn seemed such a mountain to climb, just had a look at the odds and you can get 8/11 on us just winning the game which is pretty embarrasing considering we're talking about Liverpool fucking Football Club here. 12/5 to beat Napoli, too.

And I don't think Rafa coming back is a realistic option. I think we'll see Pellegrini or Ramos here by the end of the season.

He must go but I just can't see the owners getting rid of him so quick, especially after coming out and saying his job was safe for the time being. His tactics are awful and he has lowered the standard of quality in this team. The answer as to "who do we bring in as his replacement" has to be Dalglish. I would love to see Dalglish given until the summer at least.

I agree with you on that one, some people may say it's not the Liverpool way but we started trying to save this club and got rid of the owners, but that wasn't the end of it, it was a huge part of it, we should continue, they wanted to hear the fans lets help them out and make it easy for them
