Pellegrini.

This really isn't very hard.

This.
But there are many other being named in this thread that I would be happy with.

So if a new manager is to be brought in soon, which people will the new owners consult about who they choose.
These new owners are cute cookies by all accounts, they obviously knew what team of experts they needed to surround themselves with when they took over the Red Sox, but this is a whole new experience for them, they will know very little about whos who in our game.
They are not stupid enough to be taking advise from non footballing people at the club, ie Broughton, Purslow etc, about who the next manager should be, its too big a decision, their whole investment hinges on the next chapter,  they know they will need the best to get us back to the top.
Obviously Dalglish will be on hand, but i`m sure they will want the opinion of more than one person, so who will these advisors be, will it be staff from Melwood or would they bring in people with a big footballing backgrounds to advise them on their next manager, there are obviously some well respected, knowledgable people working behind the scenes in football, I dont think the new owners are the type to make this decision lightly.

We have the answer with us already - King Kenny.

Not another Houllier or Benitez clone who never really did understand the English game.

If Roy was to go, i'd have Kenny in for the rest of the season, galvanise the support.

Ha ha!  You really think so?  First bad patch Kenny has and the 'support' would be all over him .... "Too long out of the game"  "Didn't do anything with Newcastle" etc

The real dnager now is that we have become just like any other club now ... sacking managers having only played a handful of games.  We are fast becoming the new Newcatle/Man City(old one).

Anyone fear Henry will read the paper and read Football 'EXPERTS'

such as Barclay and think everything is ok with Roy

Well considering he said he'll listen to fans and just witnessed a humiliation by Everton I think he'll get the general idea how most people view him

In order................

1) Pelligrini
2) Hitzfeld
3) Laudrap
4) Deschamps
5) Rijkaad

Can peeps stop spouting ONeill please. Knowing our luck it will come true if we keep on mentioning it. This guy CANNOT come anywhere close PPPLLLLEEEAAASSSEEE. DiMatteo needs to stay where he is and get rid of his braces (says it all really - still in adolescent managerial level) b4 he gets a chance here. Needs to learn his trade a bit more.

Wrong on two counts. He didn't give himself a ten match ban. And this thread is about calculating the ban not about selling Suarez. In the spirit of your post I'm giving you a ten day ban for detailing the thread. It's completely out of proportion but you did it to yourself. I take it you won't be asking for it to be reduced.

Di Matteo is doing a fine job, but if people are suggesting him seriously then they haven't really learnt a lot from appointing someone like Roy. He's not proven at the highest level and he's having a good season. He may well have found his level of management, or he may well go on to be a top manager, but right now he's just a manager having a good season, nothing more.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

I like his style of play don't get me wrong, and think he's a good coach, but is it that stragithfoward a choice ?

Being realistic about it? Yes. He wouldn't cost anything, and you could probably have him in the job by tomorrow lunch time.

His English is sound by all accounts.

I think we need to purge the club of hoofball tendencies. Carragher and Gerrard out asap - it's clear they obstructed Rafa's project, bigged up Roy and have taken the club backwards. Cole can move on too - he adds nothing and is just another flat earth Ingerlund busted flush.

Our next manager must have a track record of playing a fast, pass and move game with good technique. My shortlist would be:

Rafa
Sanchez Flores
Pellegrini
Emery
Hiddink

I think Martinez gets his teams playing the right way, but I don't think he has the kudos to win over the big time charlies.

Kenny until the summer is an option.

Otherwise take your pick from:

Rijkaard
Pelegrini
Hiddink
Lippi

The next man who comes in is going to have a major fucken rebuilding job on his hands, so he better have the balls and th experience of having managed in high pressure and media infested clubs before. All 4 of the above have done.

And to be honest, Id take Graeme Souness over Hodgson at the moment.

Personal idea: i think the next manager should be some young lad... because we need to think of the future, it would be nice to have a team built for a decade let's say, so no more 60> manager, i think.
Living in Romania, I can suggest one man: Dan Petrescu. He's a real tactician, won the championship in Romania with an incredibly weak team, now manager of Kuban Krasnodar, just got promotion to the first league in Russia with 4 games to go... He's young, he's hungry for success, and he would be cheap.
It was just an idea, that's what this topic is about... Bye!  :wave

To ways to go really: An established top coach or a young, ambitious go-getter.

The obvious choice in the established column would be Pellegrini, since he's available and interested.
Others:
Jogi Löw
Felix Magath
Maradona
Claudio Ranieri

Young guns would be:
Roberto di Matteo
Thomas Tuchel (of Mainz)

And some in between:
Michael Laudrup
Jürgen Klopp (of Dortmund)
Unai Emery
Mathias Sammer (maybe not so young, but the man behind the german youth system that brought through Özil, Müller etc.)

What manager, that we want, is probably willing to leave for Anfield?

Louis Van Gaal? Unlikely. Uni Emery? Unlikely.

Perhaps Lippi, Hiddink (although he never wants to leave unfinised projects), Rijkard (but noooo, no fucking Rijkard)

It has to be someone who is going to be respected by the players, is a winner and is ready for a challenge.

Maradona.....

or Pellegrini.
