Roy Hodgson post match interview
« on: October 17, 2010, 04:59:06 PM »
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/9100214.stm?

This deserve a new thread because this show his attitude toward our goal as a club. If he think that today's performance is good then it is seriously worrying for us. If he think that this is our standard then we all know where is this club going toward.
For me, this is more worrying than today's result.

Like someone pointed out in another thread, this time last year there was a thread called "Are you worried about not finishing in the top 4?".

This year we have a thread saying "Are you worried about relegation?".

Says. It. All.

Stopped it on 10 seconds. Not gonna listen to anymore of it as I'll only end up breaking something.
"I was pleased also with Peter Crouch. We have been talking to him, before and after his nose operation, to show more confidence with his heading.

"Now it seems to have worked. Lets say that if he has a few games without scoring again, maybe we should arrange to break his nose again."

To sum up:

- Unlucky
- Played well
- Life is cruel
- Play like this and the points will come
- 'It's not fair that i have to shoulder the responsibility in the light of the performances from the players'
- If you don't agree with him your not fair

Enough is enough, he has to go now!

The only thing I can possibly say in his defence is that we did have a lot of the ball after the 60 minute mark. We had some decent positions and chances in that spell. But, and this a big but, we never looked really threatening in that spell AND what went on before that, i.e. for two thirds of the match, was rubbish.

It's been the same story for most of this season. Start off rubbish until we're a goal or two down and then, a combination of going all out attack and the opposition sitting on their lead, results in us having a lot of the ball. Sometimes we've pulled a draw out of the bag, sometimes just a goal back, but today neither.

If Roy is happy with this then we have a massive problem on our hands. Personally I think he's out of his depth, but the players also need to take responsibility. I feel a lot of them let themselves, the manager and the fans down last year and it seems like it's continued into this season, despite the changes made.

I think Dr. Brukner needs to have a look at him, some wires are clearly getting tangled up there.
You have posted literally nothing of substance to flame about.  Your "points", and I dread to call them that, were superficial and completely arbitrary.  Nothing you said could be argued against because nothing you said elaborated a position of any kind.

We dominated second half? What did he expect, we were 2-0 fucking down and Everton had taken foot off the gas. You honestly couldn't make it up. Thing is, he would get away with stuff like at Fulham where expectations are low, but not here. He's becoming a parody of himself.

For me, that is just not good enough. I'd expect that if he was still FULHAM manager. I think it shows that he has no idea how big a club he's at and how expectations are correspondingly higher.

Locked thread day on Rawk now after the defeat against Everton i would say there are at least 90% of forum members who are wanting Roy to do the honourable thing and resign before he drags us down even further than we actually are now , and i agree with the 90% as if he stays we certainley are in alot of trouble and his post match comments should be sounding alarm bells in every Liverpool Fan throughout the World imho !

I understand the Mods taking a disliking to anti Player and Manager threads but when its so evident that he has to go and its a huge majority that are wanting him to then your making life hard on yourselves as peoples opinions are not going to change just because threads are being locked , and imho its not knee jerk reactions , i formed my opinion on performances and results and the performances have been abysmal all season even the flattering 4-1 Steau win was flattering .

I dont agree with email petitions or tweeting or facebook groups calling for him gone , but a thread for people to vent and have thier own opinion aslong as its not offensive is needed as forums are for opinions and everyone having an opinion and them being different is how it all works , so please leave a thread open that we can actually discuss the current situation regarding Roy and whether he should be here or not .

From the press conference today.

I thought at half-time we were a bit unlucky to be a goal down because we had got back into the game well.
"In the second half we did everything the team could possibly do, we played well, created chances, we limited them to very few and put them on the back foot."

So I thought I would check something out.

Tottenham Reaction
Saturday 26th December 2009

"In terms of clear-cut goal chances I'd say we deserved to win that," said Hodgson after the game. "I though our first-half performance was really good and we were clearly better.

After a draw with Burnley
Saturday 12th December 2009

"Still, I think we can consider ourselves a little bit unlucky not to get all three points because we did have one or two good chances.

“I think with a bit of luck and generosity on behalf of the Referee we’d of got at least one penalty in the game.

Chelsea Reaction
Monday 28th December 2009

"My disappointment is that such a hard working performance which saw us defend so well against a rampant Chelsea team with many quality players didn't get any reward.

"I'd like to have seen the players come off the pitch with at least a point to reward the quality of their play.''

Birmingham

I can’t be too disappointed because we played very well. I don’t think we had any glaring misses but most of it was us creating dangerous situations in the box and Birmingham being able to deal with it."

And it goes on and on you can't pull the wool over our eyes like you can at Fulham.

You can see quite clearly the beginnings of Roy's campaign to shift the focus onto the players and away from him. If it's the player's who aren't good enough he can say "Rafa's fault" and buy time from his media buddies.

Prepare for Torres to be the scapegoat and possibly dropped.

And in Jan, when he gets funds, we already know he wants Carlton Cole. Go figure.
