Dear Mill Financial,

Reports are reaching us in the UK this morning that you are about to take over the shares of George Gillett and Tom Hicks, thus owning Liverpool Football Club.

Just to ensure you are aware of our position, you are not welcome in any way, shape or form. You have shown us what sort of company you are by initially lending money to George Gillett, who is nothing more than an asset stripping parasite.

This is the sort of association you have, and the sort of association Liverpool fans have with you.

If you get involved with our club, we will take action against you at every turn. Hedge funds are not welcome in any walk of life; they most certainly are not in football. There has been an exhaustive, and now ongoing legal process, to determine who the best bidder for Liverpool Football Club is. And it is not Mill Financial.

We will target every one of your business interests, and specifically Liverpool Football Club, if your attempts to take control of the club are successful.

Mill Financial are not, and will never be fit and proper owners. Your association with George Gillett and now Tom Hicks means that by default.

Take your hedge funds back to Wall Street, where they belong, and get away from our football club.

I've added this paragraph in the email:

We will lobby hard with the FA, that is the Football Association, and the PL, the Premier League, to not approve of Mill Financial standing as the owners of the club, as Mill Financial have no pedigree in sports, and their ulterior motive is much clearly defined in terms of profit maximisation, rather than that of a business entity seeking to own the club, i.e. to look after it, as well as to make money. Mill Financial's purpose is for high-yield financial gain alone, and for Mill Financial, or any other business of its ilk, to own a football club is in principle not in the interest of the integrity of the competitions presided over by the FA and PL. We will further take this matter to UEFA and FIFA, and one can expect the whole matter to wipe out much of the investment Mill Financial are potentially making by taking over the club.





With the ongoing ramblings of Platini about English clubs being so badly run and needing re-aligning with the poor relations in the rest of Europe (say, for example, Real Madrid ;)) this just might get them to think twice. (Then again, it might not)

The NAV of LFC will drop by over 50% at the end of the season when – not if - they get relegated. It has happened often enough before for you to check. Newcastle United, a very big club in England, went from being worth 200m pounds to just a bit under 90m overnight.

You should ask Tom and George what the concept of “relegation” means. Did they tell you of that risk, and where Liverpool are in the table? Almost dead last.

You’ll get burned, I promise you. Unless you invest upwards of a hundred million dollars in players this January, and it’s not certain good players will join a team that’s on the way down, this team will drop to the soccer equivalent of baseball’s AAA, and you will lose much more money than Gillett has already lost you.

It’s not a risk worth taking.
