I must say, not read the Guardian on a regular basis since at Uni (it was free in the Union)

The way they have kept us up to date has been VERY impressive. Accurate and not scaremongering.

Could they not simply declare it invalid and give RBS the green light to proceed?

they can't declare it invalid, but they are laying the groundwork to over turn it once they get in front the court in Dallas.  They are establishing that the proper jurisdiction is in the UK and not Texas

2.14pm: QC Snowden speaking for RBS: "Judge made verdict in Texas on basis of no evidence and solely on what was told to him."

It is claimed that H&G tried at the Dallas injunction appeal to make sure that it could be contested in the High Court in London. But the Texas judge did not agree to that, Sachin texts from outside court 18

Could they not simply declare it invalid and give RBS the green light to proceed?

I would have thought something along those lines would be possible, and Broughton is somewhere waiting with John to sign the papers ASAP, I don't think a board meeting will be needed for it.

Nearly all shareholder agreements and financial agreements have a governing law clause. I cant imagine that RBS allowed agreements to be signed with  anything other than UK law prevailing. So hopefully when the Texas court sees that it should be game over.

I assume thats a mistake and it should be that it couldnt be contested in London, which if true is good news for us.  Or maybe the little Texan judge wants a couple of days in the limelight for a few more bribes to come his way.

I think that should cannot.

It probably relates to the line in the TRO that was crossed out and read.

Yeah, I was just wondering that, doesn't make sense otherwise.
