Paypal will kill you with fees... suggest setting up another way

It's the easiest way mate - we have looked into it but it's the easiest option for people. We need to collate hte funds we've raised elsewhere too and get them allocated correctly.

I think of mine as the equivalent of a tour shirt (tho with much more meaning) just because Springsteen is not actually playing at Bramall Lane Sheffield doesn't mean I can't wear the shirt.  Never mind framing it, I'm going to wear mine until it falls to bits.

Big thanks to all those who went beyond the call of duty to help save our club, and big thanks to Jonny for his efforts on the shirts.  We should all ensure that he doesn't lose any money on this.  I will post this thread on a few other forums to make people aware that one of true club servants need our help.

How many offy supporters clubs do we have? Every one of them should have one of these framed and up on their walls.

Yeah. Get on this. The lad shouldn't end up out of pocket. He won't like me saying it, but he was a hero through all of this. A proper hero. Let's make sure the lad gets his dough back. Buy one and frame it. Mine's going on the wall. I've got a little back room in the house. I keep all me gear in there. The Shirt is taking pride of place on the wall, next to Shanks on the steps of the George's Hall. In years, you'll be able to look back on that shirt and know you done something good.

Great idea! I was wondering what to do with mine actually. It'll get one last outing at footy tonight, then it'll be up on the wall.
I think the same, can't stand him, but if you could have a £1million pound cheque or steve bruces head hollowed out and filled with pound coins which would you have?

People actually returned them?

Taken from the Alternative Shirt Thread from last week:

Alright lads - heres the run down on where we've got to with the shirts, and I'll warn you now that it comes with the usual reality check on our "best fans in the world" strapline....

Viga have currently got in stock:

Small        131
Medium    101
Large        292
XXL             18

Total        542

I've also got a boxload from them, but I dunno what it is yet cos its waiting for me at work and I'm all over the pace and not back there until later this afternoon / evening. (Say another 100 - 150 shirts probably).

So - about 650-700 shirts to shift I reckon.

If you look at the rough profitability of the shirt it works out like this:

Ive ordered 3,500 shirts
3,344 x Adult sizes at a sales price £17.02 net of VAT
156 kids shirts at a sales price of £15 (or £12.77 net of VAT which is how VIGA are calculating it, but i'm pretty sure that kids clothes are exempt - even sportswear, but they may know better than me).

If we use their calcs then there can only be an upside...

So - if we sold all of the shirts we'd be fine, BUT we gave some away to celebs and ex reds hoping for some publicity that never really worked if the truth be told.
We've also had some returned as damaged goods - who knows how or where they were damaged, but they are, so we replace/refund and write the stock off.

So even if we sold ALL of the shirts that we have left to sell the income opportunity is reduced because of the giveaways and the damaged stock (91 and 21 shirts respectively)

That drops the income to just over £57k (57,090)

The cost of production, air-freight and duty etc is fixed - we'd pay the same if we sold one shirt or 1,000, so thats the biggest single hit at a total of £36,129, leaving almost £21k "gross profit" to Viga.

They then have to cover the costs of all of the stuff they've laid on to manage and handle this exercise:
Web hosting, staff costs, warehouse charges, admin, credit card costs, printing costs etc and that racks up another £13k - which will leaves us with about £8k profit or roughly £2.50/shirt to donate as I hoped all along...

Thats if we sold the lot.

The problem is that we arent - we're 650 or so short which strips the income back to £48k - all the rest of the sums are pretty much the same and the net conclusion is that we make no donation to either HJC or SoS and I get stung for a grand.
I'm not going to let that happen (particularly the HJC) because people have been really committed to this shirt I think largely because they knew that there was a benefit to worthy causes.

The bigger problem is that since Tuesday loads of reds have been sending shirts back or cancelling orders, so rather than the stock going down,.... its actually rising.

If it was up to me I'd be telling people to fuck right off - but Viga are good people and also they're governed by distance selling laws which means that the credit card companies force them to provide full refunds in the event of returns, which stinks to be honest.

Anyways, thats the low down - if we can get another 300 sold then I reckon we're getting a couple of grand towards HJC & SoS - thats it Viga are prepared to have done this whole thing for NO retained profit themselves - If we can get the full stock sold (which is unlikely unless John Henry - can't wait for the hoover gags - fancies clearing me out in a kind of philanthropic and clear the decks kinda way.... ::) )

Thanks again for all the support on here - youve all been boss throughout - we'll sort it one way or another...

If anyones got 5-a side teams and wants to make me an offer etc!! ;D ;D :wave

Cheers,

Jonny

If we get nothing shifted from now on, then its really simple - either theres no donation to HJC / SoS (which I will not let happen as its too important for my reputation and own feelings of whats right etc) and about £1.5k of my deposit gets buned up

OR

We make a donation of £1k

Will make a donation on pay day for sure, I mentioned setting up somewhere we could donate a few weeks back, infact I may take another shirt just for the memories too.

Anyway mentioned this a couple of times before but whoever the new owner is, ask them to match our donation, I am willing to bet my house they will and more money for the charity has to be good.
