At the end of the day football management is a job.
Unless if you have some really luxurious position lined up somewhere else, you won't just resign.
If Roy goes, he wants to get paid off, and you can't blame him. I sure as hell wouldn't just leave my job for free.

I had to do a quick search on wiki to know where is this club.

Anyway, even if he tries hard to make the impression that he was left by a shit squad the fact is we had the most number of internationals at the WC, more than Barca, Real and any other team in the Prem, Alonso's departure have hurt us more than anything, but Hodgson selling quality players and signing inferior players players who aren't as good as the others (aside from Raul & Cole) shows that his choices are shit.

Lets see:

1- Insua to Galtasaray (loan and they can buy him for free afterwards) a 21 internaional fullback shiped to Galta where he is doing an excellent season with Rijkaard to be replaced by an injuiry prone, past his prime 30 years old Paul Konschesky who with England's mess to find a LB before the WC wasn't even mentioned.

2- Aquilani, went to Juve, on fire there right now, would have been better if he stayed espcially that he is fit right now.

3- Poulsen, we paid 4.5M to someone who was dreadful in the WC and for the last two years at Juve as a replacement for Mascherano, he isn't home grown and we could've got better & younger options with that price tag, and despite proving shit with us, and despite the fact that once he leaves the pitch, the sqaud starts to play better, he is always a starter for us with his performances not being a factor

4- Meireles, a world class player, was bought as Alonso's replacement, plays on the right wing totally out of position, and once he plays him in the center, he become lethal.

5- Jovanovic, a proven international, who plays as an inside forward, is often asked to defend more than attack, he plays better when he cuts inside from the wing to play as a second forward, and leaves the wide option to the Fullback, Roy nonetheless plays him as a winger.

6- Putting Carra ahead of Agger, because Agger is a ball playing defender and not a hoofer.

7- Playing with a formation that is as old as his age, and depends on a big target man striker not an advanced striker we have right now.

8- Strange subs at the game's dying minutes.

9- Not giving Babel, Pacheco, Wilson and other youngsters a fair chance when it is apparent that we lack in some places, even Kelly is playing out of position.
His way of dealing with Babel saying he has only three months to prove himself then barely playing him and getting him subbed immediatly after scoring is just mind boggling.

10- Publicly stating that he has two teams, the starting eleven and the rest, remember we signed him because of his man management skills.

11- Publicly stating that he refuses to change his tactics as they worked for 35 years at inferior leagues and inferior sides that are no where to be found at the map of European football, he didn't mention his failings at the big stage nor does he seem to know that what works at a club doesn't necessarly work at another club, he even seems to be under the assumption that football hasn't changed for the past 35 years.

I support the team, the manager and the players everytime they go out on the pitch but when I see a lack of commitment on the pitch, a lack of direction, getting bossed by totally inferior sides, players who are on 100k pw not being arsed and a manger who was brought for his ability to get the best out of his players not standing up once in 90 minutes looking bored and out of depth for every 90 minutes we play, then I've every right to complain, Ain't I/

You are right my friend!

Couldn't we see this happening at Old Trafford? He was hiding behind the wall in front of his seat. He had fear in his eyes. He isn't cut out for this job.

Look at other clubs without our playing budget. They are doing a lot better than us right now. I've seen teams go through administration play better than us.

We are an embarrassment and the manager has to go. I was never a fan of his appointment in the first place. Nothing in his career pointed to this working out in the first place.

Can anyone point out any reviews / analysis of Insua's performances so far? At this stage he is still a Liverpool player and I'm really keen to see how he's progressing.

aside from the exxon valdes disaster that is in our midfield, that one really kills me. letting go of insua (would he have been homegrown btw?)- at any rate, regardless of homegrown, developing lad, good player, had one dodgy season, bombing down the flanks attacking mentality- those overlaps with jova would have been nice.

instead we have a platoon in that slot- a good fabio who understandably was offered pay as you play but was incomprehensibly offered a full, carra who apparently threw a tantrum at right but not at left and at any rate, still hoofing it from there, the best centre back in the world in dagger who's being told to hoof it from there too, and well, konchesky. for 3m and 2 of our promising kids. konchesky who would have been nice as backup but not as starter and not at that price.

so all in all, great!
Finish the job sir. Come back when we deserve you.

Poor Roy. He seems like a good man, but nowhere near Anfield. The job is too big for him, still I don't see us replacing him anytime soon, no even when the bloody yanks leave in a couple of weeks.

Best thing he can do is hand over the job to Kenny so we can see how the modern day cxxts sorry fans react to a poor run even with Kenny in charge.

so your are saying that you are against the roy bashing? The product on the field has very little to do with the ownership, and mostly to do with Hodgson. Yes the players could play better but their performances are a direct result of the inept tactics roy is using and his player selections. He is playing the right players in the wrong position and is playing the wrong players way too much.

England can have him...

The sad truth is, Blackpool came to Anfield, and taught us how to play football for 45 minutes....they played the way I EXPECT my team to play..the way we USED to play...not this shite we have been getting for the last 17 or 18 match's Roy has been in charge of.

Please, enlighten me WHICH MATCH he has managed for us in which we have dominated an opponent and not made to sweat like a newly promoted side.

And for god sakes, stop covering for his failures.

He is not the man to take Liverpool back into the top 4 and is clearly unable to grasp what it means to manage Liverpool Football Club.

And for god sakes, stop blaming the yanks for Roy's failures. He had 20 million to spend and what did he do? Sign a central midfielder who he now puts out wide on the right and is rarely seen or heard from, a "defensive" midfielder who has all but been over run and shown to lack pace and being unable to hold the midfield, dictate the pace of the game nor about to protect the central defenders he is supposed to cover...and a left back who at the age of 29 is making school boy errors you would expect from a youngster...

If am sick and tired of people trying to stand up for a manager who has shown his arrogance and ignorance for the supporters, the players and the club with his pathetic press conferences as well.
This is what we do. And we do it very well. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bM8gOyjeuc

I dont feel sorry for him! Why should I, he is an arrogant average manager much like the other english managers who despite not having done anything of note seem to think that they are all that and something!

I also dont give a flying fuck about his legacy, what I care about is the damages that he is doing at our club! For fucksake we got a 45mins lesson in how to play football by a newly promoted side. This is not the owners fault, this is ROys fault. Yes we need the owners out and at the same time we need this clown out also!

In the same way the board didn't make rafa make odd calls at times, they dont make roy choose the wrong tactics - Even when Rafa did something bizarre, you could see what his idea was, but with roy there just doesn't seem to be a plan

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

I think the "plan" and I use that term very lightly, is to play a narrow 4-4-2 with two banks of 4 while defending and then hitting the opponents on the counter.  Now given that our big man up front is Torres and he has pace to burn like the little man usually does, I think Roy has decided to allow Dirk to drop deep as well.  So, essentially we are playing a 4-4-1-1.  With no width since Roy doesn't want wingers.  Well, at least that is what I think the plan is.  Hardly awe-inspiring.  Absolutely underwhelming and turgid in fact.  And that is the positive side of things.

I disagree with you there. Sometimes Rafa would make a call and I would have no clue what he was thinking about. That is because he is a tactical genius and I just don't know what he knows. With Roy, I know exactly what he thinks he's trying to do and it is just shite. I'm rarely baffled, often appaled.
