SAN FRANCISCO    - Just landed in the City by the Bay and all I want to do is enjoy a lunch of scalding hot, intestine-disintegrating Hunan food, but that's got to wait. Liverpool  Football Club fans have taken to the internet and reached out to the movers and shakers of the media world (you know, 60 Minutes, Bill O'Reilly, Shawn Hannity, me, among others) to ask for our help in getting rid of Tom Hicks. You remember, Hicks, right? Big guy. Owned the Rangers  once. Well, last week he made it public that despite having to sell off the Rangers and the NHL's Stars, he was determined to hold on to Liverpool. He is seeking a new refinancing plan that will allow him to do just that.

Almost apt.

Well done all involved.

Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.
From here on in its all FSG's doing. Good or bad they will stand or fall by the decisions they have made in the summer of 2012. Lets hope they have gotten it right.

I'm impressed.
Any future business Hicks is involved with must be getting more awkward. I'd like these campaigns to continue long after the twats have left the club. I won't be satisfied until the pair of them end up as tramps.

Are there any of Gillett's activities we can disrupt as well?

Some of the comments people on the websites under the articles have been making are ridiculous.
Talk about missing the point.
They're talking about the revolutionary war and the gulf of mexico oil spill.
For fucks sake.

Anyway regardless, this publicity we have got is great and we need to keep going.
Yanks Out.
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

This is the best piece of reading I've read in ages, there is absolutely no doubt Hicks and Gillett know they have one almighty fight on their hands, They see a guy in the street with a red Liverpool scarf and imediately tell police "he's trouble" this comes from the owners of the Club whose scarf this guy is wearing.

Now can you imagine being an owner of a business, and you see a guy/girl in YOUR firms uniform and imediatly asking the police to help you?  it's just insane, they own a Club yet fear going near the place and any of its supporters, FFS they surely have to go and soon, please.

Great for the campaign to have that exposure, although I found comparing it to hooligans un-necessary -

In the old days, English soccer hooligans settled scores with knives and broken bottles. As Texas billionaire Tom Hicks is learning this week, the weapons of choice these days—camera phones, Twitter and spam emails—can be almost as scary.

The site features an image of a blood-drenched RBS logo. The site's motto: "We will go as far as we need to."

Even if they did qualify the last statement by saying the group was peaceful it does give the impression that a return to the bad old days of violence are lurking in the background.

I know there is a saying "No publicity is bad publicity", and it is good that the word is getting round that the fans are being active about club ownership, but portraying LFC fans as thuggish could be counter-productive in the long term if it became the norm.

Overall though it is good news that Hicks knows he is under scrutiny, and I just love the idea that a policeman was told that a single Liverpool fan was trouble! :)

"If the supporters love me, then it's only half as much as I love them." - Kenny Dalglish. Liverpool Manager

An absolutely fantastic result that, so well done everyone so far.

Could have done without this bit though which labels those of us that sent the emails as hooligans.

This is excellent news. A welcome Birthday present for me knowing that what we're doing is having an impact and getting the publicity it needs.
Could well be worth putting all these links in an email and carpet bombing our own media with them as it's a story in itself.

Great work everyone. Let's keep it up.

The article, perhaps even copies of the Wall Street Journal, should be found and handed out at the next game or two.
If ever people were sceptical of the power we have, this is the evidence to convert a lot more to the cause.
Still, he'll be the one laughing his flubbery face off if he gets that money before the deadline, so don't think we're done yet, not by a long distance.

You can go tell THAT.

P.S.  I was super-sceptical of the impact of these emails very recently, despite sending them all myself, I was saying it was time for harder, stronger, action, but for whatever reason they are now really hitting the mark.

Id put the opposite spin on that though..... it says football fans are now non-violent and use peaceful means to get their point across. Sounds fair enough to me

Yep - I started a thread called make Gillett squirm, I think. Aimed at making his middle-Eastern contacts aware of just what they're associating with. Bamba has since said he's licking his wounds in Colorado while in financial meltdown but it does no harm to ensure so.

I just hope people stay as eagle eyed and quick off the mark as the past few days. This is a nice achievement (the news article at least....the banks decision not to go with him too, if our emails had something to do with it), but we have to keep going full steam ahead.

I cant make the direct action tomorrow or EGM (Ireland)....but best of luck to all who can.

A big well done to all who took part in the emails and who attend tomorrow. Keep the pressure on lads

Nice. There have got to be other more direct ways to peacefully get at Hicks AND Gillett

Further emails to their companies and subsidiaries boards?
Emails to companies informing them of boycotts of their products because of their relationships with Hicks&Gillett?

Feel free to stick up similar threads/pages here lads to inform everone. If anyone doubted the merits of 'email campaigns' etc, they must surely be seeing how productive they can be now? Im off to the campaigning sticky.....

Amazing and depressing in equal measure. I just hope that they realise the depth of loathing there is amongst the fans of our Club, and that this pressure will continue until they have gone a long, long way from Liverpool.

Ill put it this way, if the BBC gets enough emails from liverpool fans it will report on it. Theyre not stupid. In fact, BBC journos need material to report on. Its their job.

If this was the Mancs and the Glazers theyd probably have a reporter on the tv news outside OT talking shite all day
