On the fence about this, but my associate at my work not going to the funeral for the previous owner of this company, said it would be too uncomfortable. I can kind of understand from his point, he only worked under him for just a few days a couple years back and hardly knew the guy, and it should be his choice whether to go to someones funeral or not. Some people are disturbed by going to funerals, and avoid them besides close family members.

The thing is I work at a locally owned company and everyone at the store looks at the employees as "family". They decided to close the store 6 hours early so all employees would be able to attend, while still receiving pay for the full day. He and I both know he will suffer repercussions for not going, he may even get fired (unfair, but I'm sure the reaction towards his absence will have some consequences). I guess it's just hard for me to understand why someone would risk their job, and work relationships over sitting in a room for 30 minutes to pay respects to the guy who hired him when he would have been working otherwise.

Surely if he explained his absence, then it would be acceptable to not attend.

I mean, you are right and some peole just don't like funerals, or he might have other reasons.

Just not showing up, might be seen as a sign of disrespect.  At lease by sending a  card, or showing his respect, then surely his arse is covered.

That's a good point, he may have already planned on doing so. I guess it's not my place to worry about his choice not to go anyway

I fucking hate the Tories. They're destroying so much that we'll never get back, the NHS being the latest. Wankers.

Its not so much the tories, they are what they are, for me as it is dickheads who voted for the libdems. I know a few supposed labour voters who fell for the fucking bollocks from the Glegg, they continually complain about what the c*nts are doing, I have to bite my tongue to stop from screaming at them that its people like them who fucking made it possible.

Its been said before, but what winds me up is 'non-uk call centres'. I am not being racist, but the people who work in these places can hardly speak English and really havent a clue what you want or need.
I think the market is starting to realise this now as I seen an advert today saying all our customer care centres are in the UK!

Yup, idiots they were, they should of gone in with labour, then all the austerity stuff labour would of gotten the blame for and they could of come out smelling of roses, but now they get more blame than the tories as people thought they would actually rein them in some how. Half of that is Gordon Browns fault as well, he should of stepped down as leader, then they probably would of gone in with them, mind had the div gone before the election Labour probably would of won the damn thing.

But now they are in Scotland or Geordie land, those fuckers speak even worse english and are bleeding stupid with it. ;D

Life's just full of what if's though isn't it  :(

Lib Dems & labour both shoulder some blame but ultimately it's the Tories whose ideology is dismantling our societal infrastructure,  just, to be honest, they did under fucking Thatcher & after math of which still haunts us now.

Sitting watching the telly tonight. A show comes on - "What the bride doesn't know..." and on the screen appears this fella that I used to consider a mate. See the thing with this show is couples get the possibility to get a free wedding worth appr. £ 10.000,-. The catch is the bride cannot take part of the planning AT ALL. Concept is fine but as i said this fella I used to consider a mate is there. The reason why he's not a mate anymore is he fucked me over for £ 1.000,-. Had he told me his money were tight I'd told him not bother - he could start paying me back when money had started flowing again - but he chose to hide, change his phone number and not get in touch. All of a sudden I hear he has moved to Sweden (live in Denmark) to save some money on taxes etc.

But back to the programme, he's got 2½ weeks to plan the wedding after his best efforts and it all works fine for him. What really pissed me off was him crying his eyes out like a baby when he gave his speech at the dinner. He has always been the tough fella, he's a big fucker 6 ft 2" and 120+ kilos, and there he is weeping. Fuck off you slime ball and give me my money. I'm wound up now... :no

Thing is I can't do shit about it. I know his parents but they're no better than him so no use trying to appeal to them to talk to him... So basicly I have to accept taking it in the bum so to speak. that's what annoys me. it's not the money although it is alot of money - it's the fact he just chooses to fuck off and screw our so-called friendship for £ 1.000,-. What a c*nt!

Yeah you did tell me and I know I have to write it off. I just find it hard to accept that people choose to fuck friendships over for money... But well. "Bygones" like Fish said in Ally McBeal... ;D

some people are ok, as you must well know, some people just are amazing liars and convince you it makes sense. Funny thing is this lad, even last tuesday when we was in town on a night out, was trying to have like mates conversation, i just kept fobbing him off, "do you want a bevvy lad", no i'll have the money instead.

True story, I didn't go to the school but alot of my mates did. If anyone on here went to Alsop in the 80's they'll confirm it for me. There was a lad who went there and his nickname was "Dead Cat Shagger" He may be in your back alley as we speak.

I hate having Epilepsy. Seizures out of the blue, you don't remember a think when you wake up, thigh muscles are extremely sore because they tightened and I bit into my tongue during all this so I can barely talk/eat. Oh yeah and I've got a massive headache. Normally it happens at night and it's one of those things where it pretty much writes off the following day, I can barely function. ARGHHH.

I'm determined to get rid of it but that's easier said than done, and it might be something I'm stuck with for the rest of my life. For the time being it means I'm not allowed to drive, but I know I will be able to at some point.

Having to stay late in work to finish off x y and z.

Someone who doesn't normally work at head office is in too
"Where is the nearest M&S?"
"what's the quickest way to get to handforth dean"
"will it be quiet going to the Trafford centre at this time"

Leave me alone, I'm staying late because I have stuff to do, not to help you plan where you'll get tonight's shopping from.

Ironically I'm staying late because some of the people she employed are too fucking thick for words so I basically have to do more work so they can hit their bonus.

I don't qualify for a bonus scheme because I'm "management" even though I dont manage anyone

My girlfriends complete lack of understanding regarding money. I really don't think she knows the concept of it. If you don't have it, you can't spend it.
A thread about a fit bird. My girlfriend to be precise

I want to cave in the head of every lazy twat at work who waits for the lift only to go up one floor when the stairs are next to every lift. Does my nut.

Most people in this world are tits. The fact they have an allegiance with Liverpool Football Club doesn't change that.

Oh god Americans doing bad English/cockernee accents, god it fucking winds me up so much. Anthony Lapaglia, like him as an actor, but fuck me me I wanted to kick the tv in everytime he was on Frasier, playing Daphne's brother no less, her with the fucking weirdest manc accent ever and then him with a cockney accent. I suppose it might have been a cunning ruse, going for true authenticity he was meant to be a man u supporter after all.

Oh Gawd..............people who dont know Lapaglia is Australian

J/K. His accents sux.
