Steady on, I'd be more worried if he got the money and decided who to spend the Masch fee on in a day or two.  He has obviously spent the weeks since he arrived working out different transfer targets based on how much money he receives and scouting the different options.  He'll then bid based on what he can afford after Masch has left.   

Its a pain in the arse getting players at the end of the transfer window as they haven't had a full pre-season with Liverpool, but they tend to be cheaper as clubs are more certain of who they need and who they don't.

If they let him go any earlier then they would have to explain why they didnt spend any of the cash. Again.

Most likely they chose not to play him the other day as well to protect him and gave that line to the press about him not being mentally right etc. Not as if they have not lied before now is it.
