Those Sergio jackets are class, love them.
The accents are shite, is it Nottingham? Irritating as crabs.

Got knows where this is meant to be set. The accents are alla  mixed bag. Some cockney, some Lancashire, some yorkshire and some cockney.
By the way, I should tell you that I haven’t had a chance to shower while making my way up here, my balls are extra vinegary.

Anyone else slightly surprised that Meadows' De Niro to his Scorsese(does that make sense?!), Paddy Considine didn't play the part of Lol's father? Having said that, the fella who is playing him has done a fine job.

WHy is it that in every episode, it starts out quite light hearted and then descends into something which is uncomfortable to watch?

I've just read that back with Anne Robinson's voice from her days on Points of View.
it's the same with all of Meadow's previous productions.

It certainly makes you sit up,take notice and makes you think.

That was the most uncomfortable, disturbing telly I've ever watched. Didn't feel right even after the programme finished.

I reckon Combo returns, everyone hates him (obviously) but they need him to beat the fuck out of Lol's dad, he does that like repaying an emotional debt to the gang, goes to jail but is forgiven, everyone is happy but Lol and Woody split up as well or Lol and Milky just don't tell Woody and pretend it's happy ever after.

I fucking knew something wasn't right with Lol's dad when he was peering out the window look at the kid and his mum, just didn't seem right and then I knew he was a wrong'en when Lol said he used to go into "little girl's rooms at night".
These are the days when I hate the world, hate the rich, hate the happy, hate the complacent, the TV watchers, beer drinkers, the satisfied ones. Because I know I can be all of those little hateful things and then I hate myself for realising that.

Difficult to watch, but impossible to turn off.

Thouht that was easily the best episode so far,  I was actually sat on the edge of me chair, hoping for someone, anyone to turn up to stop lols dad.

I've never known our living room to be so silent for so long, not a single word was spoken between me n me bird for the last 15 mins of it.

Really lookin forward to seein how this pans out in the finale now, hopin Combo can see it off in a huge blaze of glory.

Really hard episode to watch during the second half mate.

Pretty good summery there.

Was a very uncomfy ending to watch but have to agree the best episode so far.  Really hope Lol and Kel's dad have a hiding next week.

Missed the first episodes but caught up with them. Then watched last nights episode and all I can say is, wow. Shane Meadows is working on another level.

These characters are so well drawn, so alive and real, there's no wonder why he couldn't let them go with just one film. And the acting is without exception, superlative. And the darkness of last nights ending. The tenderness and the darkness of life, is what Meadows composes here, and I am obsessed with it.

Despite agreeing with everything else you said, I do disagree with this.

For me, the lad playing milky (even though i like the character) is possibly the most cardboard actor I have ever seen. In my opinion, he literally seems to have zero acting ability.

Every line he says has me cringing with the (what seems like) total lack of effort delivering the lines.

I wonder if Combo will have a run in with Mr Sandhu, the Indian shopkeeper who he racially attacked in the movie, now that he is sleeping with Shaun's mum.

Maybe he is acting the part of somebody who was beaten half to death and suffering the after effects.no?

I'm hoping the last episode will be a bit of a redemption piece for Combo and he kicks the shit out of Kel and Lol's Dad.

Found out today that most of the script is improvised by the characters.

Meadows tells them what he wants out of the scene and lets them run with it.

If its true then it is some amazing acting tbf.

Different character from the one in the film isn't it or is it just a different actor?

That head of the scooter lads is a fucking comedy genius, half the time i think he's doing some sort of Alan Partridge on acid impression.

his mate correcting him on the right Osmond was ace.

I really don't know how anyone can criticise the acting, to me it feels really natural and i'm certain Meadows is a genius.

I think you'll find sir that was in fact James Milner.

The synopsis says, there's a Wedding and a Death. I can't see it been Lol and Woody?

Surely the death is the Dad. Lol said when she was sat on Milky's bed that Combo tried beating him up when he was 17 but the Dad battered him, payback time, surely.

This should be good. Id like for someone good to die. Sound sick but I think if the obvious happened like Lol/Kels dad getting beaten to death or something and everyone continuing with happy lives it would ruin it a bit.

If one of the main characters was going to die, my money would be on Woody or Combo.

Woody dying from a fight with Milky after finding out about him and Lol or Combo dying of suicide having nothing more to live for.

He is one of the best actors around atm, fucking brilliant.

The man that holds it all in but you know can snap at any second.

Loved that montage piece and felt really uncomfortable when Trev was lying on the bed sleeping, the scene from last week just came flooding back and its a scene I hoped wouldn't be rearing its head again. Anyone else feel the same?

Definately need to get this on DVD when its out.
