Didn't you ask them when making the appointment or during the initial assessment?

When you say "Done" what do you mean by that, trimmed/cut or totally removed?

If you're getting them removed then of course they do. I had my big toenail removed a few years back because it was ingrowing, they injected my toe in about four different places and then basically yanked it out with a pair of pliers. Although, when it wore off about an hour later I was in fucking agony

Its my 2 toes on the outside.  The nail has grown along underneath the skin (May even be curling around)

It really really hurts just to touch, let alone stickin stuff at it !

That sounds fucking terrible.

We can put men on the moon, build a robot the size of a pin head, save a babies life whilst still inside it's mothers womb, yet we still just pull nails off peoples feet with a set of B&Q pliers made from the finest Chrome vanadium. We're still in the frickin dark ages were feet are concerned.

Our life balance is all out of whack if you ask me. We need more feet research.

Haha, I guess the simple methods are still the best? Don't they just smash your nose in with a big hammer in nose job operations?

I didn't feel a thing while he was doing it and he put a little screen thing up so I couldn't see it. I was just sitting there waiting when I heard the 'clink' of my toenail landing in a metal dish, didn't even realise. The pain after I got home and it had worn off was horrendous, I think I actually vomited

I went to a chiropodist once.  Went up to the reception desk, got my hampton out and plonked it on the desk in front of the receptionist.

She said: "That's not a foot!".  To which I replied, "no, but it's a good 11 inches!"

(Alright, alright, I'm going! :()

The driver of a car which had broken down came over to my window in a traffic jam and asked if I could help him to fix his car:

"I'm not a mechanic, I'm a chiropodist" I said.

"That's fine" he said, "can you give me a tow?"

Had both my big ones done in one go, the injections hurt more than my nails ever did, well worth it now though

You're better off geetting the whole nail removed rather than partials. You will always have the problem of the nail growing into the flesh.

When I had mine done, I initially oppted for partials because I'm a wuss and I hate hospitals. In the end, I succumbed to get the whole lot removed.

Eventually, I had to get them totally removed and that is the best decision I haven't made for a while. However, prepare yourself for sleepless nights when the pain and the phenol kick in.

It will be uncomfortable for the first couple of days but make sure you keep it clean and change the dressings quite often mate.

Years back now i got a stud on my big toenail, which shattered the nail in the middle. As a result it grew all wierd at the sides and ingrowing.

Suffered with it for nearly 2 years - still playing footy like but having to wrap it up each time and was in agony with it too. It actually taught me how to use my left foot though so i'd recommend it to anyone!

Anyway, eventually had it sorted and it got injected about 4 times to knock it out before it was repaired. It felt brilliant, cos i could feel the chiropodist fishing fragments of nail out of my toe but didnt hurt! Immense!
It's awfully considerate of you to think of me here/ and i'm most obliged to you for making it clear/ that i'm not here

My big toe nail came off in football, has grown back but the bastard is ingrowing on the right hand side now. It's absolutely killing me. Can't put any pressure to the area without any pain. Going to have to go to the doc's, hopefully they can nip it in the bud early.

Is there anything I can do in the meantime to make life a little easier? I might try and do what they suggested about pulling the skin back and wrapping tape/plater around it tightly.
