I really rate Aurelio...when he is playing.

We cant even rely on him as cover anymore.

Shame
Holy shit-sauce, we've got ourselves a crimp-off

Feel sorry for him. Being this close to end of season. When is his contract up? That could be his career finished.

Another season.

Feel sorry for the lad as he is a quality player on and off the ball but its really confirmed, his body can not cope and he should be out next season. Either I guess he retires or we buy-out the remainder of his contract I'm not sure what the options are.

This joke has probably already been made but the thread should be named : "Fabio Aurelio, fit now, injured, fit again, injured once more, fit, injured gain etc."
You get the drill.
Keep it simple.

Its just so frustrating to see. The guy is a top quality player but your never going to get a good run of games from the guy. I'd prefer to rely on the younger players as cover then have the club paying bigger wages on a player only available for half the season...

That's probably him done for the season. Don't know if he'll get a new contract. If only he could put a few games together.

If Fabio was a racehorse, he would have been taken behind the barn and shot about 8 times by now.

Needs to be 3rd choice, luxury play at best next season.

We cant rely on him, it's a shame because he is a very good left back when he is fit.

I'd be surprised if he's not still here next season, just won't be much more than a peripheral figure. See out the last year of his contract then hang up the boots. Real shame.
You have posted literally nothing of substance to flame about.  Your "points", and I dread to call them that, were superficial and completely arbitrary.  Nothing you said could be argued against because nothing you said elaborated a position of any kind.

Think Rafa tried to get him to sign a pay as you play deal but he turned it down and that's why we released him in the first place. Will probably be here next season but I think a LB is a priority signing in the summer so can't see him getting used that much.

Isn't he out of contract at the end of the season?

But while we as fans get extremely annoyed, I feel real sorry for Fabio. That despairing look he had in the end was sad indeed.

Gutted for him.
Imagine what a fit for a season Aurelio would do to the side.
It needs assessing, and I think Fabio might have to think about his future, is it worth all of the pain and frustration?
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

There's no doubt he's a good full back, but he can't be considered as a first choice, so I wouldn't be surprised if Enrique (or whoever it'll be) came here in the summer. At least Robinson is one for the future.

Its got to be the end of him at liverpool now.

its a tricky one as he is a nice guy and seems liked at the club, family settled etc, but he gets far too many injurys to warrent the money and squad space he takes up. its like im always waiting for a injury when he is playing

Class player but never fit. Why Purslow/Hodgson gave him a two year deal is beyond me. Then again it was probably the least worst decision they made.

As much as I rate aurellio, the club shouldn't be carrying the likes of aurellio and agger no more. Fair enough there quality players when "fit" but the wages there on we could get them off the wage bill and find a better replacement for there positions on players who can have a good run in the team.

Feel sorry for the both of them but we should ship them out and get another club to pay there wages for lying on a treatment table for 5months of the season

He's a very good player and it's quite remarkable that he can keep his level when he's out injured so much. I like him a lot, but unfortunately I think we need to replace him this summer.

Can only hope for a speedy recovery for him.

I was thinking of this too, that's probably the only way i can see him being here next season, and in my opinion it works perfectly both for him and us. Especially so when we are looking to bring a new left back in, Aurelio's experience will prove vital in helping him settle into the side.

Needs to retire soon, he is putting his body through an absolute battering.

A great signing even with the injuries. Can only imagine the career he would have had if he had the fitness of a Lampard or Carragher.
