I know, it's terrible. I got 5m up front for Maxi though, pleasantly surprising. But I've never had an offer for Cole, Konchesky, Ngog or Aquilani across probably five saves.

I always get offers for Ngog and Aquilani, get about £11m for the pair.  The other two (and Poulsen) are near impossible to shift.

I had champions league finals against QPR and Sunderland (now in League 1). Man Utd got relegated one season and played their last league match at Liverpool ( :D). Ireland and Scotland both won a Euro championship. Turkey, Austria and Russia all have world cup trophies to their names now. And perhaps the best one: Torres was England manager.

Loads of my players are worried about disharmony now, seems to me that fear of disharmony is more prevalent than disharmony itself. Especially since the supposed instigator is on loan half a continent away at juventus.
Haha Torres England manager!!1

I had loan offers for Cole at the start of the season covering 60% of his wages. Stupidly I never took them up. Shifting Cole and Konchesky is difficult.

Likewise. I did managed to get rid of Konchesky and Deggen by offering them to other clubs for free.. i just wanted them out of my wage bill, but even then, to get them to leave i had to agree to pay them about 5 grand per week each for the next few years.

Using the same process of offering players away for free, i was still unable to shift Poulsen!

Trying that method now, Comolli has just given me a scout report with Falcao, Coentrao both listed on it, decent!

Impossible is right. The board wouldn't even let me sack him!

Got so fed up I went into FMRTE and made his wage a quid a week. After that the board let me finally sack him.  :wave

I won the Super Cup playing against Barcelona. Suarez scored in the 24th minute but Villa equalized at the 75th.
But at the death of extra time Alves fouled someone in the box. Gerrard put it away and we won!

I wish it was considered controversial. That way in the press conference I can quote the King.

"Do you feel the penalty was soft and awarded too easily?" It's a penaltay! Piss off.

I remember someone here saying that Carlos Vela is a great signing and he was absolutely right. I had him for about 2 seasons and in 45 games about 30 of them being sub appearances too and he has gotten 29 goals.

Having a great season with Valencia. Screwed up in CL quarters so I am now on a 8 game win streak because of the lax schedule with 2 games left and 4 points ahead of Barcelona for 1st. Both Barca and my team has easy schedules left, so I think a draw and win should get it since my goal difference is 5+ at the moment over Barca. Also, Adil Rami is great. He is a top player but for some reason still ask for only 45,000 a week.

YES BARCELONA LOST AND I WON. LA LIGA CHAMPIONS!!!!! in my second year at Valencia. Even Rafa Benitiz came out and declared what a great manager I am.  ;D

a 4-1-3-2 here, works wonders. 4 defenders 1 CDM, 3 attacking midfielders and 2 strikers, certainly brings a share of goals :)
going to try this

Bought Downing and Capdevilla and signed Benzema and Roberto (Barcelona youth player) on loan. I'm currently 4th in the league in February with about an 8 point gap on Spurs who are fifth. Downing, Gerrard and Carroll all started the season off in incredible form. I'm pretty sure Downing had around 7-8 goals in the first three months, Carroll had about ten and Gerrard had something ridiculous like 17 goals in 20 games. Each has tapered off and Carroll at one point went ten games without scoring. I would have been higher in the league, but I had a massive injury crisis from October to Christmas, which saw Skrtel, Carragher, Agger, Aurelio, Johnson and Kyrgiakos all being injured at one point for about a month. As a result I dropped a fair amount of points in games I was leading and was forced at one point to play Sama and Gerrard at CB for a European game due to injuries and suspensions. Having sold Kyrgiakos in January, I had arranged a straight swap deal with Udinese for Poulsen for Swedish CB Joel Ekstrand. Although I wouldn't get a fee for Poulsen, it would save me around £2m+ a year in wages and given me another CB, but unfortunately Poulsen rejected their wages on deadline day.  Sunderland were willing to take Cole for nothing in January, but stupidly I declined and they never came back.

FUCK OFF.

Resigned from Porto after 10 years. Won the league every year, the Bwin Cup (League Cup) 5 times, Taca del Portugal (FA Cup) 10 times, Supertaca (Community Shield) 8 times, European Super Cup 4 times, Champions League 4 times, Euro Cup once and the World Club Championship three times.

On top of this, I won the World Cup with Spain, the Confederations Cup, and the Euro Championships twice in 6 years there, having resigned the same day as I resigned from Porto.

With the Liverpool and Lyon jobs both being available, I was unsure which one to accept after a applied, but both rejected me, Liverpool in favour of Paul Jewell. What the actual fuck?

That's fucking nothing.

Liverpool for 7 seasons, cleaned domestically and won 3 ECs, won the World Cup with England (Gerrard 90th min thunderbolt ;D) and after Mourinho left Real I decided to try it... they rejected me for John fucking Carew.

Yeah, it appears he can't do it on a cold tuesday night in Stoke yet! He's started scoring since then, 4 in his last 5, so maybe he's on the right track now.

City beat me to him! Their attack consists of Mata, Silva, Aguero and Tevez.. pretty lethal

Anyone tried playing as a lower league/non-league side? Heard it's a lot more fun in the long run than getting a top flight club to dominate for years. I just started with Havant & Waterlooville, maybe I'll draw Liverpool in the Cup ;).

WHAT A GAME!

I had a Carling Cup match on my birthday (the game even acknowledged that fact) against Arsenal away. We were tied 2-2 at the end and down a man since Agger had to come off and I used up my subs.

Babacar pops up with the game winner 6 minutes into stoppage time for a 3-2 win!  ;D

Opposition managers say that all the time to me even though I beat them.

I just bought Lukaku from Ipswich that I previously managed. I kind of feel bad for them because I got him in the last minute of the transfer window and they are most likely going to get relegated now.

What a debut. Subbed him in for a shit Soldado at half and 5 goals in 45 min

It is ridiculously difficult to sell a player in this game.

I generally sign Simon Vukcevic in my first season in charge because he's cheap, and has tremendous technicals unmatchable by anyone of a similar price.

Within a couple of seasons I'd have accumulated a title or two, and Vukcevic would have been a good contributor, with 10-20/goals  and assists per season. I have some extra money and prestige so I'm looking to trade up to an Aguero or a Pastore, and don't want Vukcevic holding back the development of my younger players.

In the real world such a player would be worth probably £20m-30m quite comfortably. Not in this game though, I can't even get 10m for him. Ridiculous. Everything is based on Current/Potential ability.

And anyone who says that Poulsen, Cole et al. are easy to sell in this game clearly have not played this game. After 2 seasons I finally managed to get rid of them, at a cost of several thousand a week of their wages to myself.

I got rid of Poulsen easily at first because he was really overrated. Since the patch, I've failed miserably. It's supposed to be easier in the second season.

I can get rid of Poulsen and Konchesky easy enough. Joe Cole is the problem. I was so desperate to get rid of him I even put him up for £1M but no one would touch him. Second season QPR came in for him after getting promoted and agreed to a fee of £3M. Only trouble is Cole wouldn't move unless I payed up the rest of the money on his contract. Decided it would be cheaper in the end as I probably wouldn't get another club to buy him after this so agreed.

Anyways on a related note, I hope Andy Carroll is actually good in FM12.

Newcastle season 1 with 11.3 patch.

Sol Campbell.  :butt :butt

1. Beaten by my reserve team forward.
2. Is on 29k a week and clogging up my wage bill.
3. Refuses to leave, no matter what.
4. Demanding 2m pounds for a mutual termination of contract (thats 1 year contract).
 :no

Any suggestions on how to get rid of him to free up the 29k per week?

edit: I already placed him on transfer list. No one is even remotely interested.

You could try offering him to a club in a part exchange deal?

Maybe you could try find a player with a buy-out clause? Then they have to accept it with him, then its up to them to negotiate with him?

Is it like if the buy-out clause for a player is €8m, then offer 8m plus Sol Campbell. And the other club have to accept the offer? But that doesnt matter as long as the personal terms (with his new club) are agreed right? He will *move on* only after the personal terms. Until then he is still on my wage bill right?

Yeah, I just bought Aguero in my 2nd season and offered the buy-out clause plus Joe Cole, Jovanovic and Poulsen and all three went to Atlético but Jovanovic asked for 16k to be payed by me which I accepted.
