So has Webb said he didn't see it?

It really is incredible how shit the FA are to be honest.

To be fair it'd make a pleasant change for a ref to admit that they made a mistake and are willing to let another body rectify it

Did Rooney ever get charged for that elbow? Not pushing conspiracy theories, just curious because I can't remember.

Just so he's available for Wednesday.
I'm not sure Mancini/City would place more importance on that game than on whichever league game he'd be missing instead though. Maybe I'm wrong.

No, ref said he took appropriate action so the FA couldn't charge him.

Why? Neither Balo nor Lescott were punished by the ref. Rooney was. 2 different situations.

Xenophobia so blatant it's unreal. Look at how there's been no outcry in the media over what Lescott did in comparison to Balotelli. It's insane.

Can't remember it clearly but did Webb even see yesterday's incidents? There won't be an outcry over a British player doing such a thing, the English are the bastions of all that is good and proper in the game

I think we will appeal it so he can play Wednesday.

Just having a quick think back a few years and Shearer when he booted Lennon. All this talk we always mention about the English lads getting off with things and harsher punishments towards the foreign players. Read this on Wiki just now.

"An incident during a game against Leicester City in the league saw Shearer charged with misconduct by the FA,[36] with media sources claiming that video footage showed him intentionally kicking Neil Lennon in the head following a challenge.[37] The referee of the game took no action against Shearer, and he was then cleared of all charges by the FA, with Lennon giving evidence in the player's defence.[38] Former Football Association chief Graham Kelly, who brought the charges against the player, later claimed in his autobiography that Shearer had threatened to withdraw himself from the 1998 World Cup squad if the charges were upheld; a claim strenuously denied by Shearer"

City need to get their focus on the title. If they appeal it they are ga-ga and are handing it to United.

He won't get off with it and the chances are that if he played on Wednesday in that atmosphere he'd do something stupid again.

Using 'insulting words' - 8 match ban.

Stamping on someone's head with studded boots - 4 match ban.

If the FA tried to be more fucking stupid I don't think they could manage it.

Funny, wanker Taylor hasn't found his voice to condemn Ballotelli either. Or perhaps someone reminded him he is supposed to represent all players and not just the ones that he likes

So, Lescott gets away scot free for an offence as bad if not worse than Baloteli.

As ever, foreign players get treated differently to English ones. The xenophobia rampant in the FA and the media is unreal.

They seem to base their decisions almost entirely on whether the press go on about it a lot. Incompetent c*nts.

Insane isnt it.

What scarier is the blatant xenophobia in the media.

Been at home all day. All thats been on Skysports News is the Balo stamp/ Fuck all on Lescott. All Redknapp talked about was Balo. All the papers covered was the stamp.

Yesterday, Balo was getting hell from SOuness and Neville. They then show the Lescott incident, and the first thing Souness says is "Jolean Lescott is not a violent player".

Such a fucking huge outcry on Balotelli, and fuck all on Lescott. It's insanely xenophobic. Fucking shockingingly blatant as well. But not a single peep from anyone.

Off balance initially but i don't believe at the second point of contact. How can your right foot lash out with that much force and then your body dive the opposite direction. He was just diving to cover up the kick in the head. Just like when evra took out Walcott yesterday, feigning injury to protect ones self from getting into trouble.

Balotelli kicks out at someone, FA give him a 4 match ban.

Thats the laughable thing in all this.

Rooney: clear as day lashes out at another player, FA cry and get it reduced to 2 games.

Balotelli: stamps on someone (could be unintentional, its unclear) and gets a 4 match ban.

Id laugh if it wasnt so fucking ridiculous.

Two words sum up this season for me :

1. Hysteria:...with the media setting the agenda on who gets a high profile 'attack' and who doesnt. It looks like Balotelli may have stamped.. only he truly knows...but for the media its turning out to be manna from heaven, add to that he's a 'dodgy foreigner' you will never get a balanced view...just days and days of space filled with pompus renta quotes on TV, Radio and Papers....imagine if it was Suarez , he'd be hauled off to the tower.

2 Hypocracy: Wayne Rooney ,English FA moving heaven and earth to assist him , media celebration of reduced ban

Well I hope you live long now, I pray the Lord
your soul to keep
I think I'll be going before we fold our arms
and start to weep
I never thought for a moment that human life
could be so cheap
'Cos when they finally put you in the ground
They'll stand there laughing and tramp the
dirt down

Even worse is one was obviously deliberate and the other could be taken either way.  The obviously deliberate one to all intents and purposes was a criminal act regardless of whether or not it occoured on a footy field.

FFS Balotelli deliberately back heeled Parker when he knew he was on the ground, I fail to see how anyone can claim otherwise? It had nothing to do with being off balance.

Whether he meant to kick him in the head, only he knows, but it was an act of a complete and utter shithouse...

Lescott also in my opinion deliberately elbowed/forearm smashed the Spurs centre half. That's less of a clear cut one for me but still should have resulted in a charge.

I'm a little cautious about the whole "they're all against us" argument; whilst I am sure it feels very pointed towards Liverpool a lot of the time, I am equally sure other clubs' fans feel the same too.  That said...

I happened to have the radio on whilst cooking earlier and Jason Roberts was on Five Live saying that he thought it was bad to judge Balotelli as guilty because you couldn't be sure what he did was intentional.  He also said it was tough for Balotelli because his reputation goes before him.  At this point, I nearly choked.
