Where's Andy@Allerton to blame Alex Ferguson for this!? ;D ;D

Joking aside, that's the most shocking decision I've seen for years. Could've ended Songs career ffs!

Nah, could have been far worse. He could have called Song a word he perceived to be racist...  ;)

IMO Mancini could do with bombing Balotelli & Tevez. Players who believe they are bigger than the club are no good for them.

Mario Balotelli intends to walk off the pitch if he is racially abused at Euro 2012 - and says he would kill anyone who threw a banana at him in the street.

The Manchester City and Italy striker was speaking amid fears of potential racism at the tournament in Ukraine and Poland.

In an interview with France Football, Balotelli said: "If someone throws a banana at me in the street, I will go to prison because I will kill him. Racism is unacceptable to me, I cannot bear it.

"If someone throws a banana at me in the street, I will go to prison because I will kill him. Racism is unacceptable."

The 21-year-old was regularly a target of racist abuse while playing in Italy.

Balotelli also said he believes he is a genius and smarter than most people.

"I think I am a genius, but not a rebel," he said. "I have my life, my world, I do what I want, without annoying anyone.

"I believe I am more intelligent than the average person.

"The talent God gave me is beautiful and wonderful, but it is difficult because you are always facing other people keen to judge you.

"There are few people with such talent, so there are few able to judge what I am doing."

Really hope he does... walk off that it is.

Think hes spot on.

I hope he does as well. Would give UEFA something to think about.

The petty fines handed out to national FAs for racial abuse simply isn't enough.

And let's just consider Italy are getting beaten in say the Semi Final and are struggling badly. What's to stop Balotelli pulling an Evra and claiming he was racially abused and walking off.

What if the abuse is from a local rather than a fan of the team Italy are playing. Why would it be fair on the game being suspended or abandoned?

The onus in all racism cases is placed on the accused, so I'd imagine Balotelli would get the benefit of the doubt.

Players walking off is a no no, only the referee should have the authority to halt or suspend a match.

He's not fucking stupid, he wouldn't do that because italy were losing a game badly.

If its from a local ? That's his entire point, he's not talking about fans of the opposition.

Players walking off due to racial abuse from the fans is fully justified. No ref is going to stop a game because of it and players should not be subjected to it. It isn't one of those things that can just be brushed off as 'part of the game'. I don't think a player walking off would cause the game to be abandoned anyway. Hilarious to suggest its unfair to walk off when leaving the field because of racial abuse

Let's just take your logic and apply it to the Tom Adeyemi issue. Suppose he'd thought fuck this I'm walking off. Game abandoned at the very least. Possible reply but given the tensions of the time more likely punishment would have been expulsion from the FA Cup.

Yeah, it's a great idea for players to start walking off the pitch mid game.

This is an issue for the referee, UEFA and either the Polish or Ukraine FAs.

As it happens I don't think it will materialise at all. Typical scare story before a big tournament.

I think the difference is an individual nobhead shouting something is obviously bad and may provoke a reaction, but an entire crowd booing a black player is simply unacceptable. I think Balotelli is talking about the latter. No one can stop the individual wanker shouting something vile and anyone understands that - but an entire stand/large group abusing one player based on his ethnicity, as has happened multiple times in the past, is something I'd be happy to see anyone take a proper stand on. Because UEFA, and the respective countries FA's are likely to do the sum total of fuck all about it - again as has happened in the past.  Like you I don't think it'll materialize,  but if Balotelli did get booed by a large portion of the crowd and he DID then walk off the pitch I'd back him. And not just because he's a tramp loving, firework setting off mentalist but because for me it's about time someone did something this dramatic to highlight just what a grim problem this is is many parts of europe.

Yes, I think you are probably correct in that Balotelli is addressing the issue of collective abuse but again there is precedent in our recent past to consider the principle against.

Let's say Evra in the FA Cup game who was being routinely booed and goaded by large sections of the crowd, had thought I'm being targeted not because I'm a c*nt but because I'm black and walked off the pitch.

The Equality Act is absolutely clear in this instance. Racial characteristics are protected and had he believed his dignity was being abused and the Liverpool fans were creating a hostile environment we would have been in deep trouble trying the defend it.

Again at least that's explusion from the FA Cup.

I'm just totally opposed to players walking off and taking this into their own hands. This should be education for the referee and powers for UEFA.

Fabio Liverani recently represented Italy too, he is of Somalian descent.

Who said that Balotelli, obviously?
If so, then what happened to him last night?
He does realize that a letter carrier delivers hundreds of letters every day. He is a 21 year old footballer albeit an excellent one but he  acts like he knows what he's on about and he hasn't much of a clue about anything really.
