iīm pretty sure the reason why we bought Coates is becouse we didnīt manage to get Phil Jones...

We wanted Phil Jones as back up to mostly injured Agger at that time to partner either Carra, but i think more of the partnership with Skrtel..

Iīm pleased Agger is fit and that the partnership with Skrtel is developing so nice...but this means even less need for so many CB players we have atm... Coates is a top prospect, Carra is not going to be younger and with Agger - Skrtel partnership, there is a bad place to be for Wilson..

I wouldnīt want to see him go other than loan though....

We should send him on loan, to get some competitive football. So I'd be surprised if he's not sent on loan, or sold in January.

IMO the likely move is that we'll send him on loan and then he'll never return. He's off at the end of the season.
The daring move would be to loan him out now, say goodbye to Carra at the end of the season and have Wilson fill his role as the 4th CB, a role he could share with Kelly.

If he goes I hope it is only on loan. Of course if the coaching team sees something I don't, and they surely would, I accept and support their decision if he is to leave permanently.

I don't think you will see Kenny getting rid of Danny that easy. Very highly rated by Clarke and Dalglish. A loan maybe but it won't be a case of kaysarasara.

Didn't he have some trouble trying to find somewhere to go on loan? It would be the most obvious option though.

If he was to go permanently we should definitely be putting buy-back or sell-on clauses into the deal because he won't go for very much but could turn into a gem.

If he is going off, it will probably be for a loan - I can't imagine that the club will want to be rid of him so quickly without giving him a proper opportunity to develop and to see if he is good enough for the long run.

disagree.  i think he's done here.  wisdom looks better at reserve level and wilson hasn't taken his chances.

if he goes on loan it will be to get him off the wages bill - maybe back to rangers?

agreed.  if only.  he could be filling in for lucas now that agger and skrtel are rock solid in the centre of defence.

My approach to CBs is that you usually need four. Two first choice who should play the majority of games together. For me, that's now got to be Agger and Skrtel. Then you need two for cover. We all know Agger's legs are made of lego and it's only a matter of time before he's out for a few months. Defenders also tend to pick up cards over the season. So currently we have Carragher and Coates as cover. It wouldn't exactly shock me if Carragher decided that his playing days might be drawing to a close and either retired or took more of a squad role while he focussed on getting his coaching badges or whatever he wants to do next (open more restaurants, whatever)

So next season, we'd be looking at an Agger/Skrtel 1st choice partnership with Coates in reserve and maybe room for one more. If we had to pick between Kelly and Wilson, I think most of us would go with Kelly for that role. But a lot depends on how his game develops. He's currently cover at right back, and if that is where he ends up playing more regularly then we'd still need 1 more for cover in the middle.

I'd like to see Wilson go off on loan somewhere and try to make his case for being that player. If nothing else, it would get him some exposure so that if we decided to let him go, we'd have a chance of getting a decent fee.

Dominic King said we were interested in Fucile, so if Kelly was being groomed for two back-up roles, and Aurelio leaving, that would make a bit of sense. Wasn't Wilson supposed to have been a bit picky about potential loan placements?

I think Wisdom is better than him. He needs to go out on loan, but I don't have much hope for him if I'm being honest.

He seems quite a pussy. I can't remember him ever looking really dominant in a challenge and coming away with the ball. Kelly, Flanagan and Robinson all look like they can compete at this level whereas Wilson just seems too soft. Perhaps he'll develop that edge eventually. A buy back clause would be essential if we sold him.

So, basically, you haven't watched him yet you've come to the conclusion that he's a 'pussy'? Pretty sure he's a very good attacker of the ball IIRC too. Haven't seen him for a while though, bar that one reserve game where he looked rusty as fuck.

Hopefully he gets a loan dead sorted this coming window.

Personally I hope Carra goes around 1 more year.

1st choice Agger/Skrtel
Back up: Carra/Coates
Developing: Kelly/Wisdom

Think that works fine unless we get a CB that can play DM I don't think we need anyone which is a change in stance by me from couple of months ago went I would have given my left testicle for a reliable top quality CB.

Excellent move for him. Hopefully he can have as much success there as Shelvey did.

And from a Scots point of view, it's great news - with any luck he'll get regular games, meaning he can be one of our CBs when the next international games come up.

He wouldn't have expected to start playing immediately, I'm sure he has learned alot just training here

Did Shelvey the world of good. Hopefully it'll have similar effects for Danny.
I think he is a good prospect and think he can have a role to play in the future.

Hopefully this also indicates a continued relationship with Blackpool, they play good football, and are on a budget so could do with boosting their squad with youngsters and a run in a Championship side can reallly help players prepare for when Kenny calls upon them.
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.
