Not wanting to burst the happy bubble but it has to be said...
5] Lets put this in perspective. So far we have spent £4 million on 2 kids and brought in 2 further freebies. Less than overwhelming and if the window closes at this i would be peeved. I still feel we have yet to see £20 million of the monies earned.
oo ffs

if by that, you mean Nando leaves it's a no-no
Chelsea said Drogba is staying for sure, Carlo ruled out Nando signing and has 4 strikers already, they are looking for a #7 instead. Nando's wife is pregnant, they love the city. Barca has Villa and Ibra is set to stay, and if they spend big, it'll be on fab. Inter all full of strikers, Milan are in a worse situation than us, Nando won't go to City and they are signign Balotelli in a couple of days anyways.
may I ask where our Nando will be going to if a let down is about to happen ??
Might not be Nando as much as Masch, even though many have accepted he wants to go. Like Donkeywan says, we've received 20 million from player sales. Let's say the following occurs:
Sell Mascherano for 25 million
Sell Riera for 4 million
Sell Kyrgiakos for 1.5 million
Sell Babel for 7.5 million
That's another 38 million in player sales. That's 58 million we could spend. So far we've bought Shelvey, Sterling, and Wilson for around 5 million. Cole and Jovanovic are on frees (higher than normal sign-on fees probably). Even if we buy Remy, Figueroa, and a another solid player for a total of 25-30 million, that leaves money still for a major signing, which probably won't happen.
Through frees, exciting youth players, and decent players, our squad won't look bad at all. However, the real "let-down" is that we still have these twats in charge and we probably won't spend as much as we should.
It's not so much our team will be shit (it won't be if only the above 4 players are sold). It's that with the right people in charge, it can be way better.
Short term, shrewd signings might be enough to make do. Long-term, it's not sustainable. The summer may not end as bad as people fear, but financially, it can never be as good as we need it to be. Coles and Jovanovics will not be on frees every summer.
