Do we have an EL game the Thursday before?
I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager.

what a game to kick off the season

big test for the new manager and the team
Two bulls, one old and one young, standing at the top of a field watching a herd of cows. The young one says, "hey let's run down and fuck one of them", and the older one says, "patience, let's walk down and fuck them all".

Of the first 5, WBA home is the only nice-ish fixture

Arsenal (H)
Man City (A)
West Brom (H)
Birmingham (A)
Man Utd (A)

Our last 3 games are a Europa Cup run in.

Fulham(A)
Spurs(H)
Villa(A)

I was hoping for a boycott. not just another protest.

Which won't happen.  People aren't going to boycott our first home game against Arsenal.  But they should.

Can't say I'm surprised at the fixtures! Arsenal at home, which is interesting. Mancs and Chelsea getting the first two games at home against West Brom and Newcastle. Doesn't matter anyway! Regardless about how the fixtures have been laid out, are we even going to have a manager by then.

Arsenal then Man City. Looks like the press agenda for the start of next season will be crisis Liverpool.

Just hope it's not the reality.

That's a tough old start. However, the better teams take time to find their stride so we could be the ones to make a bright start. City and Arsenal will not be pleased either.

Arsenal won 6-1 on Merseyside on the opening weekend last season. Wouldn't be so funny second time round. Tough start but just have to get on with it - let's hope any protracted transfers out won't have happened by then and we still have some big names left for them.

It'll be away thats a given, but it doesn't matter anyway as we're in for a relegation battle no matter who we play, as we'll have no decent players left by then.

I normally look at the first 6 games in the hope of a confidence boosting start and then the last 6 games folr a good run in to hopefully being crowned champions. I also check the main rival srun ins to compare them. This year  i looked at our start and end...both of which are very difficult (particularly the run in) ans stopped. I have no idea who are rivals are now. Fulham? Everton? Villa? Can't see it being Chelsea and Utd.

fuck it. we play each team twice anyway so who really gives a shit when we play them?

you beat the teams you can beat and you try hard against the teams you can't. see where you end up and hope it's good.

besides if arsenal do loose cesc to barca they could be in for a shaky start as well so it could be a good game.

why not say fuck it, run straight out of the blocks with a competitive pre-season due to europa and win the first 5! 15 points in the bag and 3 big rivals beaten. and man u.
If Tevez signs I will be the first man in history to run from Sydney to Melbourne in complete and utter nudity  :D
